Happy Mother's Day (MOMS)

Want to start off by saying Happy Mother's Day. Hope everyone have a great Mother's Day.

Start off with a update from Nesa she is doing ok she had a little virus that took it's course YAY so she was in the hospital for 48 hours and then she was doing great. Happy she back home.

A quick update I only got to do a little sewing have more sewing to do this week.

I got to do my girls a quick night-gown.

Patter is by McCalls 9649

Nesa's night gown I did long shorts the pattern ask for short shorts but, Nesa wanted it long. It also ask for a drawn string Nesa didn't want that. So I put a little elastic in it.
She didn't want any sleeves in her shirt and she wanted a long shirt so she could wear it as a long gown also. WOW Nesa is smart lol. She was helping me the whole time with her gown.

Nellie's I did some mistakes I did a small when I should have done a x-small for her little tiny butt lol. But, She still wanted to wear it.

Here they both are. :)

I am working on another night-gown for them. :)

Times like this makes me be proud to be a mom. :)

I have some recon projects to do also. Since hopefully when this weather here gets nice and stay nice I wanted to get my girls some capris I found out that they have some high-water jeans that I am proud to cut and make until capris.

Still working on my mom afghan that I don't think I will be down with by her bday grrrr. Be so busy it's hard to do 10 squares a day.

School has taken a hold on me lately and I am so trying to stick to it. Just starting all my lab classes and OMG so much to do. Have a 5 page paper due next week Monday on the 17th grrrr have to test out of all the vital signs grrrr have finaly exam the following week. But, I am sticking to it.

Then have my life to put together. Nesa have blood drawns 2 to 3 times a week depending on her blood work. Nellie have touring to get a little extra help in school since I don't have that much time myself to really help her like I want to. Nesa in a after school program where I work at 3 times a week. OMG life is so much with so little.

Then a friend of mines and I was thinking about writing a book so grrr reach search and time to try to do that on the side.

Sewing, crocheting, reading and any other things I have to squeeze in, in my little time I do have.

But, that's what a mother is all about.

Just When I Thought Things Was Looking Up

Just when I thought things was looking up. We have been home with no problem with Nesa being admitted to the hospital since January. We come for her to get her blood drawn 2 to 3 times a week grrr but, we have to do it. She sees her transplant liver doctor once a week. Grr but, have to do it.

Everything was looking good. They said, something about a biopsy a couple of times but, then Nesa's blood work improved over night or in 2 days so that biopsy will be canceled.

Until yesterday Nesa goes to the nurse's office at school saying she not feeling good.
Her temp 100.5.

I call her liver doctor's nurse they said, don't give her anything and they want to see if her fever can go down on it's own.

Nope about 2 hours later I get a call from my mom because my mom had Nesa. Saying Nesa temp is now 101.9 so I rush to leave school and now we is at the hospital since yesterday.

As of today they have done ultrasound, chest x-ray, blood work to find out why this fever came along.
As of this morning her fever is gone. Yes. She still feeling down and not eating as much.

I just hate the waiting game where now I have to wait until the doctors do there rounds between 9am and 10am to find out what all her tests showed and whats going to happen next.

My sewing and crocheting. Have a bit of sewing done like they night gowns. Crochet not that much just trying to do the squares to my moms afghan and did some dish towels also just to waste time in class lol.

On A WIP Roll

This weekend has been hecked so I wasn't able to get a lot done as I thought I would. I did get some crocheting done. I can't tell you how much I have missed making things. I like the finish projects and like how calm and relaxing crocheting does.

I was able to finish that girlie baby blanket that has the crochet edging going around it. It came out so pretty love the outcome to it.
I brought 2 yards of the fabric 1 yard on each side with the crochet edging sandwich right between the fabric.
I picked a thinner fabric so it's more of a receiving blanket then a blanket since it will be getting warmer outside dont want anything to thick when summer comes.

On 2 sizes of the blanket I have pink, green then on the other 2 sides I have green, pink. The stitches is small shell stitches that worked up quickly.
I measured the sides by chaining and using the chain row to measure how many stitches I needed.
Used I - hook
Yarn Caron Simply Soft limelight and soft pink. If you look at the picture you will see I am almost done I had to pin it down so I can sew it. I will have to hand sew this so that the yarn wont get stuck in my sewing machine foot so wish me luck with hand sewing lol don't really like hand sewing I guess I will listen to my mp3 player while I sew this.

Now after finishing this blanket for a girl I thought I would do one for a boy as well. So when I came across the blue, white and green frog fabric I was like oh wow. Ok now I can do a boy blanket. Been going though my stitch edge book to see what would like nice for a boy blanket. Haven't decided yet what stitch to do. My fiance told me to do something that is like square like don't do fan or shell stitches for a boy blanket so I am still looking so I won't do anything to girlie for this blanket.

Also I want to do some sewing. Still haven't started on my girls gowns but, will soon. Also while I am doing that I have some ideas on myself a shirt and a dress. Found these 2 pretty fabrics that I love.

The patterns I got for these 2 fabrics both by McCall. M6037 and M5893. I don't know which one I am going to use for which fabric I just liked these plus I want to see if i can handle doing these patterns. Haven't sewn in a very long time so wish me all luck.

Ok thats my update right there so off I go. Since I only go to school twice a week for this term I am going to enjoy sewing, crocheting and trying to catch up on my reading.

Work In Progress

After all these months I finally get to say I have some WIP projects. Well working on some long term and short term projects. I went looking on Ravelry looking at a few of my low term projects that I want to finish up. Like this
Tropico Afghan that I started back in August that I wanted to finish for Christmas for my mom but, now I will have to try to finish it before her bday June. She don't know I am making it for her all this time I have kept it a secret so she will be really suprise when I give it to her. I've made plenty of squares but, here is what I am working on from a cross stitch book.

This was the work in progress the last time I took pictures so hoping to come along soon. I just haven't been putting together the squares just crocheting them up first.

Now here is another long term project I've been on and off working on since February 2009 OMG that's been awhille lol. Here is when I had about 50% done but, now I would say I have 75% done.
When I am finally done I will be so happy lol. The biggest project I've ever done will be this one. I think I would have been down a long time ago if I didn't had to take months and months of brakes but, I had to when I had so much going on.

Here is some short term WIP projects.

I wanted to do my little niece a tank top and when I seen this Patron yarn I totally love the color so cute.

Here is my niece and myself with her cute self. And the tank top that I haven't yet had her put on so my next post I will have it on her. So you all can see how it really looks.

I am also working on doing a throw blanket for my couch. I now have read couches and thought that making a pretty crochet throw blanket for it would be nice. Plus working on a long term project with the same color red and white yarn I want to do a latch hook rug wall hanging. So far I started off on it and I see how much I missed crafting so much.

For the latch hook I want all white circles with red background. So far but, aint not telling how long this project will be.

I also have a idea with this pink, white and green fabric that has some cute little frogs on it. I also got some pink and green Caron Simply Soft yarn I want to crochet some edging and sew it to the fabric to make a cute receiving blanket. I have a couple of friends and family memebers that is pregnant and want to see how this turn out and if it turns out ok I will give it to one of them for there baby. Just trying to use that crafty side of me that I haven't been using lately. LOL

I have a sewing project in mind also that is to make my girls some night gowns for the summer they have all these pj's that is pants and long sleeve shirts I wanted to make some summer wear for bed.

Since my house as been rearranged a lot my living room area is now a living room lol so no sewing machine in here anymore so now I have to find a corner to put my sewing area at so I can get back to sewing yet again. I totally miss sewing and crocheting.

Oh also as you can see I thought I will start my blog off on a new leaf with a new style and change it up a bit with the background. Cute aint it lol? :)

WOW it's been awhile since I logged on.
I've been so busy everyone.
Nesa was in the hospital for the whole month of January due to rejection but, she is doing better now.
To make a long story short she is back in school. She is more happy YAY. We home more now then before.

I've been working and school been taking up a lot of my time. Don't get in much crocheting.

But, I have been teaching 3rd graders up to the 5th graders how to crochet at my kids after school program.

One day back in January I got a call from the person that runs the afterschool program asking me questions about crocheting and all. He found out about me though Nesa and Nellie's teachers because in the pass I've been them things and they remember me. So I got a job from word by mouth. YAY lol. The girls are getting the hang of it. Well some of the girls.

Oh before I started teaching the girls at the school. I went ahead and taught Nesa first. So now my baby is 7 years old and not how to chain and do single stitches YAY. So she helps me at the school to help the other girls. They see how Nesa do it so they go and ask Nesa and she is willing to help and show them.

But, other then that we is maintaining. Here go a few pictures of us just hanging in there.

Nesa have to get blood drawn at least 2 to 3 times a week. She show us how much of a pro she is lol. :)

Well my title said it all.

Today I am now 29 years old.

Happy Bday to me.

Haven't been around still having problems with Nesa's health since her transplant lots of stress with that so haven't been wanting to needing to update.

Nesa is now off the oxygen but, now over a week ago we found out that she is now a dietbic I don't think I spelled that right but, I think you all get the drift of things. Due to her rejection meds that is how it happen so we is trying to now deal with that.

But, off I go cause I'm in the hospital with Nesa and she is ready to eat will update some time soon.

Hey everyone. Everythings going good here just have a quick crochet project update. I've been done with my latest crochet projects since November but, never had time to post the pictures due to so much other things most of you all know.

But, I did Ms. Nellie a hat and scarf

Also Nesa is now toothless lol. How cute is that.
As you can see she is still on oxygen 24 7 but, she went down to 2 liters instead of 3 liters so the less she needs is good hoping soon she wont need any oxygen at all.

Nesa doing good no nothing manger. She just happy to be home. I am to. Nellie miss Nesa so much. I get to finally go Christmas shopping Thursday been putting it on hold due to our hospital stays.
We just hoping she can spend Christmas at home.

I've been doing ok. Just started back crocheting to help with my stress. I read from time to time it helps me go into another world so I won't have so much on my mind. But I thank everyone for all the prayers thanks a bunch.

I am hoping all goes well in due time.

Yet Another Update

Well Nesa is doing ok. We is back in the hospital due that there was a small infection that can be treated by antibotics. Plus with all the 3 times a week visit to check her blood work to make sure her liver is still working. Also she had to get a liver biopsy due to her liver count wasn't looking right and they was concern about it so the biopsy can show more in details and it did.

But, other words Nesa is doing ok just smiling and playing and wondering why she is here so much when she said, she don't feel sick.

She also gaining weight and that is a good thing her face looks fuller and she is looking so cute and healthy.

The new liver she got is smaller so her belly has went down a lot. They took the saples out yesterday so that was good.

Other words we is hoping she don't have to be admitted again cause Christmas is around the corner and she wants to be at home she said, I missed Thanksgiving I don't want to miss Christmas lol. She is so crazy.

I thanks everyone for the prayers thanks a bunch.

I will update before Christmas.
I am hanging in there the best I can it's very stressfull when you can't sleep and then I sometimes feel guilty when Nellie asking me why she don't see me and trying to explain that I am in the hospital with her sister she say "Again" but, hanging in there schooling, very little home life, hosptial life just life all together.

Ok off I go hoping Nesa can be discharged today.

Update With Pictures

Well here are the pictures. Just a couple.

Nesa want to do her own scrapbook so I took plenty of pictures but, I am only show a few for now.

All my pictures I don't have cause I used my cell phone to take these pictures. But, these I was able to manage. Some I just couldn't but, Nesa wanted pictures for herself.

When she came to the ICU. Right after the transplant.

She got out the ICU Sunday

She is now moving around a bit.

She will still go home on the oxygen until her lungs heel of the lung diesase. She still have one of her drains in her belly for the next week. The saples will come out in 2 more weeks. But, looks like we will be heading home Friday.

She's able to eat and she just been playing her little butt off lol. She is hating the 15 meds she have to take but, oh well she has to take it. I don't know why she putting up a fight when she been taking meds since birth lol. But, I guess kids never gets used to it.

But, here she is today just playing her little heart out.

The doctors said, she has done so well since her transplant. I am so proud of her though all of this she still manage to make me smile.

Oh by the way she is starting to be tooth-less lol. One missing tooth instead of money she got her a liver the next day. How cool is that. :)

Thanks everyone for the prayers and all. I am so glad to see my girl doing so well.

I also hate that I have to be away from Nellie for so long since I am here so much but, I went to pick her up and took her out to eat and brought her a doll so she wont feel left out I also explain to her what is going on with Nesa and why I am away so much.

New Liver

Sunday morning Nesa was sleep when we got the call. A liver transplant nurse called saying they have good news.

First when we got the call I didn't think nothing of it because I was given a pager and thought it would go thou the pager so when this call happen and the nurse asked me questions like.

Is Nesa sick do she have a cold runny nose and so on and so on. I said, no, no, no, no and no to ever question.

She says well we have wonderful news we have a new liver for Nesa.

Soon as she said, that I nearly fall off my feet because remind you I wasn't sitting down I was walking though my house doing earlier morning cleaning while my girls was still in the bed then I was going to start on breakfast.

She asked has Nesa ate I said, nope she is still sleep she said, well go ahead and you all package and I will give you a call back in 30 minutes to tell you what room Nesa will be admitted to.

So I am running thou the house packing and yelling said, Nesa you go a new liver. She all happy she going to get her toys and all telling me what clothes she wants to wear.

30 minutes same nurse called, we was giving details on what to do.

So we arrive at the hospital around 11 am or so. They running tests x-rays, ultrasounds, blood work all of that. I was told she probably wont be going into surgery until close to midnight.

Her liver came from Oregon is all the information we was given. But, we also was given if we want to get in touch with the donors family I can write a letter give it to her transplant team and they will send to the donors family and if the family wants to get in touch with us they can respond.

But, all we know is her liver was fewn in from Oregon.

Monday morning 12 am/midnight November 23, 2009 Nesa was wheeled into the surgery.

I didn't leave the surgery waiting area. I slept right there on the floor and waited. They kept us updated by calling the phone that is localed in the waiting area to let us know what is going on.

The finally called, came at 8:30 am saying that Nesa is doing well and will be sent up to ICU shortly.

Around 11 am I finally got to see her because they had to do so much and we wasn't allowed in the ICU at that time.

I totally cried my eyes out seeting all those tubes in my baby. But, after awhile I got myself together and calm down but, I still find myself braking down.

While she in the ICU they want to montor everything from ultrasounds to x-rays to blood work and so on.

So they come in to do a ultrasound.
BAD NEWS the arthies and veins that is pumping blood thoughout the liver has a blood clot.

So they tell me the that she has to go back into surgery so they can fixed that.

So around 1 pm she is back in there and I am waiting and waiting. Mind you I don't care about no damn sleep I slept on the floor and wasn't even sleep it was like a nap.

So around 3:30 pm she is back in ICU this time I beat there to her room so I can see her come in though the doors.

They fixed it it's ok now.

As of Tuesday November 24, 2009 Nesa is still on the vent machine to help her breath they was going to take her off of it today but, due that Nesa has that lung disease her oxygen levels was dropping doing the night and they is concern about that and want the vent in until probably Friday or Saturday. Her blood work is looking good the liver is working and the ultrasound for today showing that she has flow thoughout her veins.
So all that is good.

The down part is that they is hoping that her lungs approve with the new liver and that she wont have low oxygen.

NESA - she is responding alot she cant talk due that she still on heavy meds and have the tube down her throat. But, when I say her name and tell her I love her she looks at me and shakes her head. She is able to point to where she is itching of where it hurts like feeling funny to her.

Me - I am hanging in there able to not cry as much as before. I've cried so much that my face looks dry and no matter if I put lotion on or not I dry the lotion out. But, I am hanging in there and watching my baby. Hate that she has to go though this but, it's good for her that she got a new liver.

I took lots of pictures a couple of before pictures and after pictures. I am not able to post them now because while I am typing this I am still at the hosptial. I wont be going home to get extra clothes until Friday or so then I can post pictures then.

Nesa has a scrap book she wanted to keep progress of her waiting for her liver and then when she get her liver. When we was at home Sunday she said, mom don't forget to get your camera I want you to get pictures. I said, ok I will.

But, on the good note she is hanging in there and I miss her saying Mom, mom, mom lol. I am missing her saying, Mom Nellie keep messing with me lol. Mom I wont that I wont that lol.

But, her school princple called saying that she wish Nesa the best and that she will come and see Nesa when she get out the ICU and also other good news she put Nesa down in this wishing like well thing where ever princple thoughout Milwaukee can nomtie a child for to get whatever that child wants as a wish like a make a wish foundation.

So I told her all the things Nesa likes and it would be nice if Nesa did get to have her wishes come true.

Nesa wanted a lot of toys girly stuff I knew that. Also a WII game, she want her own bed lol cause she tried of sharing a bed with Nellie lol and she want to go back to Disney World. I knew all of this so I just told her princple.

So we wait and see if Nesa's wishes can come true. It would be nice as a Christmas wish for her.

So aint no telling how long we will be here it goes by how long Nesa body is able to start working on its own and she starts doing things on her own. So she won't be able to do much until the vent is taken out.

But, I am here talking to her every step of the way. Telling her what is what even though she falls back to sleep she still hears me.

She made me laugh today. I asked her "Nesa is you tired of me calling your name?"

She shook her head yeah. And then a smile came across her face then she shook her head No.

LOL I had to laugh.

She even making me laugh while she is the one going to the worst thing ever that a 7 year old can go though.

Ok enough of my typing I think I have wrote a book lol.

I will update with plenty of pictures. Before and after pictures. Also they took the bandages off her belly it's looking good but, the saples will be in another week. So I will try to let everyone know step by step how things are going.

I tend to wonder around the building or stand by her bed but, when I stand there tears starts to roll down my eyes so I try to stay busy here at much as possible thats whey I am updating my blog. Journal writing does helps a lot I have to do this more often (AGAIN)

My friends and family is here as well to support me as well. Since I know so much about Nesa condition sometimes telling friends and family over and over it tends to get me to brake down again and again. So I sum it up and tell them the main details to whats going on.

But, on that note let me get back to her room be glad typing this only took me about 10 minutes glad I am a fast typer lol.

Still Waiting

Well I've got some great emails with people leaving prayers and hoping for the best for my daughter Nesa thanks everyone.

I've been trying to hand in there right along with Nesa. It has now been a little over a month and aint no telling when she will get a new liver. They have had offers but, those was turned down due to that there was problems with the donors. But, Nesa is still number one in the region and we is just waiting. I am trying my best to keep her from getting ill. She got her flu shot and her H1N1 shot so thats good. When we out in public I am making she to wipe things down before she touch them just incase.

But, other words. I am doing good. I started back crocheting a few things. Hat and scarf for Nellie because since I be so busy with attending to Nesa I try my best to make sure that Nellie isnt forgotten she gets a bit upset at that. Shes only 4 so trying to explain to her why Nesa is to tired to play why Nesa is always in the hospital. Why Nesa takinig so much medicines.

But, I am still in school trying my best to hand in there. I only go 4 days a week but, soon 2 times a week due that Nesa have appointments ever week. She has about 2 to 3 a day I try to schedule as many in one day so we wont have to travel back and forth for 2 or 3 days in a row. Hmmm good thinking huh lol.

They want to run some EKG scans on Nesa's heart due that her heart is now rating way to high and they concern about that. Also want to do some brain scans since Nesa is low oxygen even though she is on a oxygen machine 24 7 they want to make sure that the low oxygen isn't causing any damage to her brain.

Nesa is homeschooled now but, her teachers miss her they stop by to check on her ever now and then and Nesa is able to go to the school and visit whenever she wants. Sometime next week before Thanksgiving I want to take her to her school so she can go to the library she love books just like me.

Ok well I think that is it. I will post pictures of my crochet projects soon. I been crocheting and reading to keep my mind busy from worry.

It's Been A Long Time Coming

Ok I've been on a totally emotionally roader coaster for weeks now. Not to many of you known about my daughter Nesa and her condition a quick sums up on Nesa.
Nesa was born with a liver disease called Biliary Atresia to get more information you can click. But, Nesa had a surgery called a Kasai back when she was only a month old to correct her bile ducts. Ok that did great but, for many years she kept getting a infection due to her liver disease. She was hospitalize many many times I lost track a long time ago. But, her GI dr did endoscopy produce to help close up her veins that went down thou her month and down towards her stomach. This was done ever 2 to 3 months for the pass 3 years in a half this was to help open up her veins a little so that they want open to much or close to much closing can cause blood clots and opening way to much can cause her to bleed to death.

Now that was going soso but, then Nesa started coming down with this horrible cough this summer that just wouldn't go away then she started having trouble breathing. Then on top of that she was sleeping way to much and didn't want to go out and play or do anything that kids like to do. So I took her for her check up with her pedicitan and her dr said, that Nesa has low oxygen level and she thought it maybe asthma so she gave us inhalers and a machine for Nesa also told us to go to children hospital because she didn't like how low Nesa oxygen levels was. Also I told her about the sleeping that lead her doctor to think she maybe depressed and to see a physiogist. Ok so then Nesa was admitted to the hospital for the low oxygen that lead to them keeping her for 5 days to get her oxygen level back up it went back up and they said, it's asthma. Ok I thought we was done with that.

Nope we wasn't done with that about around the start of September Nesa had to go for her surgery with her GI doctor so we went. The nurse did Nesa's vitals and noticed Nesa oxygen level was way to low. She asked me was Nesa running before she came to seat down. I said, no why you ask. She said, because her oxygen level isn't normal her level is 79. I was like wow.
Now for those that don't know oxygen level is supposed to be in the late 90's up to 100 now Nesa was way to low.
Now after her GI doctor gets the news he decided to call off the surgery they didn't want to put her to sleep into they found out what it was that was causing her oxygen to be so low. I explain to him about we found out that she now have asthma could that be it he said, no that can't be it but, that doesn't means she don't have asthma and he want her to see a cardiologist.

Ok so we go and see a cardiologist but, in the mean time I am so worry and stress and hoping my baby is ok. Cause when I hear cardiologist I think of the heart. Now she set up to do a echo scan and do this bubble test to see how much bubbles go to her heart and leaves her heart and travel to her lungs.
They found out that only about 20% of the bubbles is traveling to her lungs and that isn't good when at least 90% to 100% supposed to make it to the lungs this is what is causing her to have low oxygen.

Now we wait to see what is next but, why we is waiting. I end up rushing Nesa to the hospital fast because she complaining she can't breath and that cough has gotten worster and worster to the point she was throwing up with her coughs. A high fever at 103.8. We get to the hosptial and her oxygen level way way to low and she's put on oxygen fast and for the next week and a half we in the hospital I get information after information about why this happened to Nesa.

Ok on top of the liver diease Nesa was dignosed with Pulmonary Arteriovenouse Malformation I was like what. So other words to sum that up. The veins that connects to Nesa heart that leaves to her lungs not pumping enough blood to make into oxygen to send to her lungs. Thats why she short out of breath or barely can walk up 8 steps and why she so tired a lot.

Now the liver transplant teams come into Nesa hospital room and introduce there self I knew this was coming but, I didn't want it to get to this point. They have to give her a new liver due to the low oxygen her liver just wont be able to take it and also this can help reverse her low oxygen problem. They said, some kids with Biliary Atresia this can happen to it's a low percent of kids that this can happen to so it happen that my daughter is one of the low percent. For days Nesa on the oxygen in the hospital and I am getting schooled on what will happen before, during and after the transplant. Then I am trying to explain the best way I can to Nesa about what is going on and what will happen. That's hard to do with a 7 year old. Nesa knowns she is different but, now trying to explain to her the reason why she gets tired just by taking 10 steps from her hospital bed to the bedroom.

As of October 9, 2009 Nesa was put on the liver transplant list. UNOS the transplant network.
We is finally home after all this time but, why we is home Nesa has to stay on oxygen until a new liver comes available 24-7 she is on oxygen so that means no school she will have to be home school the social workers at the hosptial is taking care of that. Also she has to be on her pulse opt machine thoughout the night and of course take all her meds and try to stay healthy until a new liver comes available.

The downfall to this is trying my best to explain to Nesa. Also waiting for 3-6 months or a liver to possible come availabe for her. Also our hospital here don't do living donors and family memebers and friends as welling to get tested to see if they can donoate to Nesa. Also waiting on someone else to die grrrr. Also Nesa complaining about her oxygen nasal cords. Also me trying to hang in there. Also afterwards she still in the danger zone with rejection or infection and don't want to think about the negative outcome pass that.

The good thing about this is my baby can get health again. Play again be a kid, kid again.
Also Nesa want to know the donors family and I like that she cares that much to want to know them.

Nesa and my conversation:
When I was explaining to her about her getting a new liver. She said, mom how they go live without a liver if I can't?
I said, well whoever liver you get will be gone up to heaven that person have to die first.
My Thoughts: How else do you supposed to tell a child that the person you getting a liver from will be dead.
She said, won't there's be dirty?
I said, well the doctors will clean it the best they can but, to keep the new liver working in you, you have to take care of yourself by taking all your meds and staying clean.
She said, I will.
Then one thing she said, that really caught me off guard but, I loved that she cared.
She said, Mom can I tell her mom thank you for the liver?
How I react and my thoughts: I just broke down crying. Telling you the truth I wasn't trying to be selfish but, I was so concern about my child I knew someone has to die in order for my child to get a liver but, I never thought of wanting to know the donors family until Nesa said, something.
I said, yeah we can see if we can get to know the person that gives you a liver family.

Well right now in this region Nesa is at the bottom of the list her doctors working on within a week or so getting her to be number 1 on the list in our region so I am keeping my fingers cross and prayer that she be listed as number 1.

So now you all see why I haven't been around much lately. Not to much of sewing or crocheting going on. To keep my mind busy I've been reading a lot either novels or reading up on transplants and all of that.

But, in the mean time I am trying to keep my head up and spend plenty of time with my girls. We try to go out to the movies and out the eat as much as possible. I try to keep Nesa walking limited as much as possible. She misses school but, Monday I am taking her to say goodbye to her teachers and classmates for now.

Oh also Nesa and I started a book it's like a count down to her new liver. Everyday she will write how she feels I am helping her to try to keep track of all her meds when she supposed to take them and stuff like that. She get to ask me questions as much as she wants. I thought this would be nice for her to keep track of how she feels and also for me to know what meds she is on for that day and doctors appts and so on.

So wanted to update you all and let everyone know why I've been missing in action yet again. So will be taking a brake from blogging I won't for good will catch everyone up on what is going on from time to time. Or if I am working on something will update you all on that. I am working on finishing up Nesa afghan I want her to take it with her to the hosptial for when she gets a new liver. Other words I am trying to hang in there lots on my mind but, I am hanging in there as much as possible. School for me starts October 19 my mom will help to watch Nesa while I am gone. Working with be no longer for me right now cause all my focus is on Nesa and her getting well and I want to be around her as much as possible. School is only for 4 hours a day Monday-Friday and my school willing to work with me when Nesa is in the hosptial for any reasons.

So Much To Do In So Little Time

Well looks like I got my crocheting mojo back. There is so much I want to make since it's going to be getting colder soon I guess I tend to crochet more when it's colder I've noticed that a lot. Sew in the spring and summer crochet in the fall and winter hmmmmm well I guess that's just me.

Well have a little progress done on many projects. Well did finished that shirt dress for Nellie it's a shirt but, I have it flare out as a dress cute on her. Here she go modeling her shirt.

How cute. Oh, my baby is so toothless. I don't think you all seen a picture of her since her 2 bottom teeth came out. :)

Don't know what kind of yarn this is got it from a friend and it didn't have a lable on it it was just yarn she didn't want but, I like it I may take it to the yarn store just to find out what kind of yarn this is. It's soft. But, I used no pattern this is a little like her old crochet dress I made awhile back. I just mainly looked at that to get this how I wanted and of course used Nellie to make my measurements.

Done in HDC and SC stitching and crocheted with a H hook.

Now next project has been a working in progress for me I was to finished this last year but, then I just went on to other things and this project got away from me.

This is a hexagon diamond afghan I am working on for my mom just got back to it but, very little progress because I find other things I want to do.

Now this is another hexagon afghan I was also working on I think the last time I posted any information was when I just started doing the hexagon and I probably had like 10 hexagon done. Well been working my hexagon butt off and now I have this to show for.

This I am making for Nesa. I have to say I have had a lot of progress and only been working on it for about 2 days on and off. I am trying to make this as tall as Nesa so hoping some more progress with this comes along this upcoming week.

Now this next project is for me and my bed. I believed I started this this year not so sure don't remember but, I have been working with this on and off for months but, decided to hop to it more a couple days ago. I have to say it's coming along.

As you can see on view 2 it's on my bed I am half way there. It now comes to the middle of my bed now so looks like I am getting closer to being done with this. My goal is to be down with this by the middle of next month like around the 20th or somewhere. But, if I work on it more I may be done with this in a week. Wish me luck.

Now this is another work in progress for me. My goal is to be done by Christmas since I wasn't able to finish my mom hexagon diamand shape afghan last year. I decide to suprise her with this afghan. I am not going to show her this at all it's a suprise. It will be a suprise to me when I finish lol.

I have a couple of quilting books and magazines. I came across this blanket that is called Tropico.

I liked the graph to this so I say well I don't quilt but, I crochet so what's wrong with me making those into squares and make that myself. But, in totally different colors then for this quilt. Hmmmm smart huh lol.

So, so far I have this done.

Not much just started Thursday and I say I have about 60 sqaures done so far. So that's good. Don't know how many more I need and I don't want to know. I am just going to do like 3 rows at a time and connect them as I go. I think that's best lol. So really wish me luck on this one. I think I will totally love this project after I am done. I know my mom will she been waiting for me to finish a whole afghan for her for awhile. :)

Ok future upcoming projects. My sister want me to crochet a baby block that rattles for my niece so I will start that soon. Also I wanted to crochet a boy and girl ABC blanket or just a baby blanket and probably sell them. I also want to get started on winter things for me and my girls sewing and crocheting. Probably after I finished my afghan I want to start on my shrug that turns into a vest, scraf, cape, and jacket. My sister want one too. So lots of projects ahead of me.

Well lots to do. I start school again October the 19th so I am getting as much done as I can since I am back at home and I get bored very easy. But, since I have been crocheting I've noticed I do miss it. Love the acomplishment I feel when I finish something that is so suprise and done by me. At times I still can't believe how far I've coming to just starting to crochet by teaching myself thou books and the internet to crocheting a block that wasn't staight for nothing lol to now crocheting things I can't believe I can do even when I do it without a pattern. I am amazed at that so much. Love have a unique talent that I can pass down to my kids then they can pass down to theres as well.

WOW Where Have The Time GONE

Ok quick update. Been away way to long been so busy this summer. We all went to Indiana, Chicago and other cities in Wisconsin so we have been so busy that I have been behing on blogging for awhile.

Also Nesa been in and out of the hospital for the pass 2 months but, she is doing ok. School starts on the first so she is ready to go back to schoo. This year Nellie will be able to go to school also she will be going to K4 can't wait.

I on the other hand had to put my radiology classes on hold due that they couldn't find my last credits grrrrrr from when I was in school before since the school closed down it's hard to prove my college credits grrr but, oh well that opens the door for me to start my Medical Assistant classes in October and since they made a mistake it's on them and I don't have to worry about that money I own hmmm so it all works out for the better lol. I am happy and can't wait to go back to school also liking that my sister will be also going for the same thing MA also and we will be going to the same school so shoot we never should say that we don't have a study buddy lol when we can study with each other. I am so proud of her for wanting to go back to school oh and myself lol.

But, enough about that.
I haven't been doing any big sewing just been the fixer upper for people that need something fixed up on jeans, shirts, skirts, dress, purses and so on. Mainly the fixer upper type thing since I been so busy I haven't been able to agree to anyone or myself to do a big project.

Well since fall is around the corner I noticed this is the time I start crocheting a lot and I started making a dress for Nellie it's like a shirt where she can wear legging with it. I am also working on my mom's afghan that I have been working on for a year lol oh and also my afghan that I am so trying to finish by December that's my gold.

I have some upcoming crocheting projects I like to do. I was watching Knitting Daily where there was this shrug that turns into a vest, scarf, jacket, cape and more and it was doing in knitting I was like in aww at it and said, I can do that in crocheting so I am going to give that a try soon as I start I will start taking pictures.

No picture update don't have my camera at home with me but, in this upcoming week will try to take pictures of Nellie shirt I am working on and hopefully I can start on some new crocheting projects. I just need crochet juices. LOL

Don't have any sewing projects up my sleeve just yet but, want to make me a couple pair of jeans and some shirts.

I've Been Sewing My Butt Off

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. My family and I had a great time eatting up a storm lol.

But, I got to get in a bit of sewing this pass weekend. So wanted to show you all my latest projects.

I did me some gaucho pants and a shirt. Did Nesa 2 outfits.

But, first let me run you down about mines.

My gaucho pants that I so love. Done with McCall 5251

Now here go my shirt. I did this from Butterrick 5001 but, the pattern is a dress I only did the top part for my shirt and added more fabric to make a fuller shirt that hangs on the left side of the shirt. Love this fabric and love how I made this pattern my own.

While it is tied on the side of the shirt. It can be tied and untied.
As you can see in the back I love reading lol.

Now on with the show with Nesa outfit. No pattern done here. I used some old shorts of Nesa's for my draft. Alsot his fabric I only had 1 yard of it and I made it worth it. Used flannel for this outfit. It's a short and a short sleeve jacket/bolero. Size 6, 7

The bottom of the shorts has 2 ribbon bows on both sides of the legs. Jacket/bolero is shorter in the front but, made it longer in the back.

I liked this fabric for this next outfit that I did for Nesa. I also didn't use a pattern just used Nesa as my model for her outfit. Also had 1 yard of this fabric as well. I call this school girl outfit. Nesa wanted a skirt and I thought of those school uniforms for this outfit. It's down in pleats.

Skirt and bolero/jacket shorter bolero/jacket. This outfit can be wored with out the jacket as well but, thinking about added a button to the bottom of the jacket.

Don't mind the shirt she will really wear this with a plain white shirt.

My latest project is finally done. I whipped it up today. I been had it all cut out but, finally since I don't have school on my mind I was able to get it finished. Oh congrats to me. I was taking a small CNA class while I was taking up my Radiologist classes. I took my state examine test yesterday and I passed so I am a CNA I am waiting for my name to pop up on the CNA list for the state. That is proof that I am a CNA and can work in any health care place. I wanted to do this while I finished up school for Radiologist. YAY ME.

I did the skirt with the 2 tiers and a shirt from this same pattern.

I will put my review in as well.

Pattern Description: 2 tier skirt with a shirt

Pattern Sizing: the skirt is a size 7 and the shirt is a 8

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? some what I changed the pattern a bit.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes very easy

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I didn't have any dislikes. I liked the 2 tier on the skirt first time doing a 2 tier.

Fabric Used: cotton and satin ribbon for the bottom of the shirt. Ribbon 1 1/2

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: Did the double tier but, made the top part of the tier in a shorter way then what the pattern asked for. Did elastic in the waist band of the skirt since my daughter is smaller in the waist.

For the shirt didn't do the side ties since my daughter has a fuller belly it didn't look right. Also added ribbon to the bottom of the shirt to give it a bit of design.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, would sew it again in a different fabric. I do recommend

Conclusion: Loved how it turned out my daughter loves the sunflower fabric I that was used. Great for a little girl.

Also I have some upcoming projects that I want to sew for myself.

I need to buy some fabric so I can make me a couple of work srubs for when I go find me a CNA job.

But, I want to make these that is in this picture.
Some gauchos and a wrap shirt the pattern shows a dress but, I wasn't going to make the dress I was going to make the shirt part of the dress I will figure it out.

A very quick update on what has been going on. I have been reading a lot lately finished up 5 books in about 1 week wow on a roll lol. I have a big test coming up next week Friday so I will be studying for that for the next week.

Well update on my girls. Nesa bday was June 10th my baby is now 7 years old. We had her a bday BBQ party on June 12. Nesa had a Hannah Montana bday theme.

Then on June 13th my friend daughter had a bday pool party so my girls had so much fun both days. Here go my girls having fun. I liked this pool place it's located inside of a hotel and I like that the water isn't as high. The highest is 3'6 and they have lifeguards so the girls had a ball. We supposed to go back probably July 3 or the 4th just so the girls can have them a ball.

I have been crocheting a little here and there. I am in the progress on doing Nesa a afghan in like 8 different colors. Since I did Nellie one a long time ago lol I finally decided to get started on Nesa one. So far I have the hot pink squares done. I am going to figure out as I go how I will do this.

Also I am finished with crocheting for my small pillows for my couch. I just have to block it and I need some more tan fabric so I can make the pillow and use this as the outside decor of the pillow. I am doing 2 of them. First need to block these.

Also I am trying to get back into my sewing. I was going to finished up Nesa a bday outfit but, time got away from me I never had time to get started on it. So I went on ahead and cut out what I want to make but, yet to get started sewing. I will soon.

Well that's my update. We is doing great over here.

Before and After (Couch and Chair Remodel)

Well I am back wasn't gone long got to squeeze in more of my crafts this week. I am going to give you all before and after pictures warning watching all my pictures of my before and after may get you to be more crafty lol. :)

Well I have been gone Craigslist crazy lately. I never thought to use Craigslist until one of the girls in my class was telling me about things she got off of Craigslist. I was like girl you better watch yourself. Because a couple months ago there was some crazy man on Craigslist meeting women and killing them but, she let me know when she go pick up the things she buy she makes sure not to go alone. So I applaue her for that right there.

I been wanting to start on my living room to get me a living room set but, I wasn't trying to spend 500.00 dollars or more just on a couch and chair. So after searching Craigslist list I found a great size couch and chair and the owner just wanted 35.00 dollars for it. YEP that's right 35.00 dollars incase you didn't get that the first time lol. I was like what the hack. I was like what could be wrong with this couch and chair. So I email her and went on ahead taking my sister and friend with me just incase. We seen the set and it wasn't much wrong with it just needed to be cleaned and plus her family moved out the house and didn't want to take it with them. So I got it and was like ok I can do something with this. I am a sewer so I can put in my little touches into this couch.

So here go the before picture. I didn't take the pictures I got the couch and chair and go working on it before I took the before pictures so I email the owner asking her if she can send me the pics that she had on Craigslist.

If you look close you can see that the couch and chair seating pillows are a tan. I changed those as well.

This fabric is on the back of couch and chair. Cute huh

Also I have this same fabric at the bottom of the couch and chair as well.

Cute button aint it. I took all the buttons off the couch and chair and cover it with the fabric and resewn it back onto the couch and chair.

My fingers are now tired and hurting. I did all this by sewing with a big eye knead and with embroderying thread. That was some work there but, the after pictures paid off.

I had so many pillows from when I had my old living room set that I kept. I decided to take some of my pillows and cover them with the fabric so it can go with the couch and chair.

I also cover up pillows with that tan fabric.

I am also doing more for my new/used couch and chair. I am going to make some armrest with some tan fabric for the armrest of the couch and chair. I also want to cover up more pillows with fabric.

Iam also working on some crochet things to add to my set. Here below is the start of some mini pillows that is a fan design.

Cute so far. I need to block this. I have more work to do with this one. I want to do 2 pillows in this fan design.

I also want to take that same design and make a throw using the colors that I have in the fabrics. Tan, brown, cream and blue. So that can be something you can toss on the couch. :)

So what you all think. My mom came by and see what I did now she want me to fix up her couch oh by the way she also got her a new/used couch great deal as well. :)

My First Dress Made For Me By Me

Hey blogger friends. I aint gone just yet. I finally got to get a little project done. It took me a week to get it done but, it was totally worth it after I finished. Due to me working and going to school I got to throw in a bit of sewing ever day making plans on what I will finish everyday so I could get this done.

I love how it came out. I am not a dress fan but, I wanted to do this in denim and see how it comes out. Plus since it has a belt to go with it I totally had to do this pattern and see would I love it.

I did the pattern by Butterrick 5194.

I used this pretty blueish cotton fabric for the inside lining only at the top of the dress. I like how I let a little of it shows at the collar. :)

Also as you can tell I have a pocket on my right side of the dress. The pattern asked for 2 pockets but, I only wanted one pocket. I also like how the pocket hides you cant tell it's there. :)

Pattern Description: A denim dress

Pattern Sizing: 22W

Notions Used: 5 buttons that measure in 1 1/8 inches

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: Only did one pocket instead of two pockets. Only did 2 of the belt loops in the back of the dress. I cut it shorter to the knees but, I also added a bit of denim and gave it a bit of a hem at the bottom. Serged to the lining of the opening only used a little of the cotton fabric for the inside of the lining where the collar is and a bit of the opening of the dress. The one pocket also have the same fabric of the lining.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would sew this again but, with a different fabric. I would recommend it also.

Conclusion: This is the first dress I have every made for myself. I like how I can show off my waist with this dress with the belt that was one reason why I decided to make this dress. It worked out great I gave it my own unique-ness to it with my own style to make it my own.

I've Been MIA To Long

Sorry guys I know I know I have been MIA way to long WOW didn't know it was that long. I have been so busy. I am now back working full time and going to school to become a radiologist so I haven't been doing much sewing or crocheting and when I do sew or crochet I just can't never finish the projects like I want to do to me studying so much. Have a big test tomorrow so wish me luck on that one. Other words I have been checking on on a few blogs today it totally got me inspired to get back in the funk of things. I also was inspired watching this new sewing show called Fashion Show and that totally got me wanting to sew something. Friends and family been like why you haven't been sewing or crocheting when they know the answer to that. But, I have been reading like crazy to keep my mind busy.

My girls are doing great. Nesa will be 7 next month. I postpone me moving to Green Bay my BF decided to move here instand so now my living room isn't my sewing area no more well I had to give up a little of space in there so now I have a corner for my sewing area but, yet to get in there and sew. But, my goal is to get a living room set and decorate it with my sewing. Make the pillows the curtains and all so my BF glad that I have that sewing in me it can help to save money there.

I hope everyone is doing great in the bloggin world and hoping my blogging friends didn't totally forget about me lol. I will try to get in the groove of things and try to update more offen you all have to remember this the first time I stayed gone this long for so long.

Quick Update NO Pictures

I am still around. After my sewing marathon I guess I needed a little brake. Plus I have been busy traveling back and forth to Green Bay, WI.

Also Nellie bday was March 4th and her bday party was on the 6th sorry no pictures I left my dang camera at home grrrr but, Nellie had a ball at Chuck E Cheese. It was a great bday party for her.

I haven't been sewing or crocheting for awhile I am in the process of spring cleaning and decided to get a lot of things out of my house before I move. So wanted to let those that may want some things know that right now I am selling my Brothers serger on ebay soon I wanted to sell a few crochet and sewing books. But, first my serger so if those that may want a serger here is where I posted it.

4 Day Sewing Marathon

Well been sewing my butt off lately so wanted to update with all of my latest projects.:)

Well since spring is around the corner I thought I would start on doing a little bit of spring clothes for myself.

I totally love this fabric loving the colors and all. This fabric was only 1.50 a yard at Walmart and I got 3 yards. :)

Fabric Used: Blueish green double knit.

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: Didn't use the back or front hem band, just did a small hem by folding and sergering to make my own hem edging. Gave it more of a V shape done the middle of the front of the shirt didn't do the buttons. Also didn't use the sleeve stay because I didn't want a stiff sleeve I wanted a bell like sleeve for more of a flow to it.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yeah, I will sew this again and recommend it. It's a great tunic with lightweight fabric for spring wear.

Conclusion: Like how it came out came out lovely. I think I did a great job with this tunic.

Now here go my Sunday shirt number 2 I worked yet another 3 hour project. This fabric I used for this tunic was also 1.50 a yard at Walmart I got 3 yards.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Nah not really did a few changes in the alternation area. But, somewhat I sticked to most of the details.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy to read and understand.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Didn't have any dislikes at all.

Fabric Used: Silk double knit, black, grey and light blue

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I did longer sleeves and gave it a bell like to the sleeves. Didn't do ribbons or jewels appliques or roess on the top side of the tunic.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yeah, I will sew this again and recommend it. It's a great tunic with lightweight fabric for spring wear.

Conclusion: Like how it came out came out it's very nice looking on me. I think I did a great job with this tunic.

Now Monday project yet another shirt number 3. Yet this project was 4 hours. This fabric also was 1.50 a yard at Walmart and I brought 3 yards.

This pattern is by McCall 5768

I like this pattern but, after seeing it in a picture I don't think I should of used that color purple I was trying something new there but, don't think purple looks great on me. :(

Fabric Used: Black Leather and blue cotton for the lining

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: Didn't do all 4 pockets only did 2 pockets did my own pocket sizing 7 by 7 and the flap 6 1/2 inches long. I wanted my pockets to be bigger then what the pattern asks for. I also used 8 buttons size 7/8 gold. I did my own measurements for the button holes in the front of the jacket I did 5 inches apart from each other. I also made a slice on the right and left side of the jacket at the bottom to give it that more of a movement to ti so it wont be so tight around my waist since I was working with leather. I also added a fabric piece that measures in 1 1/2 inches in width that is sewn around the back of the jacket where the waist is. I also added a little flap fold with a button right there also to give it a more of a design to it. To give it my own design I change this jacket a bit as you can see.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yeah would sew this again probably in denim since leather works up a lot of time I think I would do it in a lighter weight fabric next time.

Conclusion: Like how this came out love that I gave it my own style to fit me. :)

Ok that's it. I just showed you all my 4 day marathon that I did. I just was so inspired for the pass couple of days and just couldn't pull myself away from my sewing maching. But, now going to take a couple of day brake now. Going to get back into reading and want to try out a few crochet projects again.

My Capelet and Belt M5764

Thanks goodness it's Friday. So what do everyone have plan this weekend?
My weekend will content a bit of reading and sewing. Tomorrow Project Runway will be have a little marathorn of a couple of the old shows so that will inspire me to get my sewing on. I have been behind on a bit of sewing since I been reading up a storm late.

But, I decided to throw my book down long enough to finally finish my capelet with belt.
This is my first time doing a capelet so bare with me. It worked out great liked how it turned out. I also have to confess I am not a green wearing type of gal just never could get into wearing green but, I gave this fabric a shoot. I wanted to change up my colors a bit but, I did keep in on a dark green so it would look a little black in the dark so I couldn't give up my dark colors way to much lol.

But, here go my capelet and belt pattern is by McCall 5764

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yep somewhat I did a lot of changes compared to the one on the envelope

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, they was so so what easy as I went I just flow with it on my own.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Didn't have any dislikes at all

Fabric Used: Used a stretch satin fabric that had these white pinstripe decor going down the fabric to give it that stretchy-ness to it. Also used white and green cotton for the inside lining to the open part of the capelet and also used that same fabric for the belt to give it that reverse type thing to the belt so that means there isn't a right or wrong when it comes to the belt. I also have 3 dark green buttons size 1 1/2 for closure :)

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I didn't make the button holes in the front for the belt to loop though. I wanted my belt to come around the capelet to give it more closure to where my arms are. I also only did 3 buttons but, I made 4 button holes

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yeah I will sew this again but, I will give it a try in sewing it in denim.

Conclusion: I like how this turned out it worked up great I just did a little alterations to it to make it more a little more of me when it comes to the capelet. I like that it's green never really wear green so this worked out great.

So there you have it my latest sewing project still no crocheting projects to report. Hoping to get back into my crocheting soon. :) But, until then have some sewing projects that I want to start on this weekend. Or at least start cutting out. I have plans for me 3 shirts and some tan jeans. :)Wish me luck.

I am Trying To Get Back To my Hobbies

Well this pass week I have been really busy kids doctors appointments my doctors appointments been back and forth between Milwaukee, WI and Green Bay, WI so been busy on and off.

I did start on one sewing project it's a Capelet M5764 Tanya made this same capelet on her blog. Sorry Tanya I was going to do it in denim but, changed my mind at the last minute decided to do something else with that denim I have. I always do that sometimes.

But, so far this is what I have done. Really not that much. I got the back and front pieces done have to add the belt with the belt hoops and the collar then I am done.

I also been a bad gal keep buying more and more fabric and patterns. I just can't pass up good deals when I see them. I get the fabric and have plans on what to do with them but, yet to get it cut out crazy huh.

Also since I been sitting in doctors office most of this week I decided to read to pass time. I got more books from friends, family and my sweetheart. As you can see below my book collect keeps getting bigger. I now have over 300 books that is novel books that's not counting my crocheting and sewing books because if we count that I will have about over 500 books then lol.
So finished 2 books this pass week working on trying to finish up another book by Tuesday. I am way into my books lately it takes me to another whole world. I wish I had that speed reading talent I then could finish 5 a week wow. :)

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day I had a ok Valentine's Day wish it could have been better it started snowing grrrr lol.

Hats Hats And More Hats

Ok been back from my weekend getaway. Did a little shopping while in Green Bay, WI found some lovely fabrics that I now have to figure out what to do with all this fabric. I also got some patterns of all kinds. My plan this spring is to start sewing alot more and hopefully sell a few things from time to time. Thinking about jackets ranging from size 12 and up. First have to get more a couple of dressforms sometime this month.

But, here is a few fabrics and patterns my sweetheart got for me after batting my eyes and saying you know you want to get it for me lol.

Ok also I made me a few hats for myself a Newsboy (Women) hat and a cap. I got a couple of responds about my hats people wondering where I got them from but, after saying I made them myself there goes a ramp-page I have been sewing hats since Sunday night. Sold about 6 so far have a couple left that I thought I would put on my Etsy shop and see how it goes on there, since I haven't been sewing on Etsy I mainly been doing a lot of person to person selling but, thought well why not. So taking a leap.

The description to ever hat is in my Etsy Shop if you like more details about them all. I also want to try to do custom made orders by have different fabrics and the customer picks the fabric they want from the fabric swags I email if someone want a custom order done. I also want to add some more hats with matching purses to my shop soon. :)

Here is a few of the hats I whipped up. I have been sewing my butt off going to take a 2 day brake of sewing and start reading since I got more books that I added to my collection.

I did 2 Newsboy (Women) hats and 4 caps with buttons on the side for a little design. They all ranges in size small to medium. From 22 inches to 23 1/2 inches for sizes.

Patterns I followed are from McCall 5541 with a little alternation I did on the caps and other pattern is from Simplicity 2808 with also more alternations.

Here go 2 hats I made for myself. 1 is the Newsboy hat and the other is the cap. The newsboy hat is a large due that I have lots of braids, and the cap is a medium I haven't wore it yet will wear it after I take my braids out.

Well ok I think that is all for now just a quick update on my latest projects. No crocheting lately but, have to get back to that this week since I am still working on that afghan for myself and I started on a wrap/shawl something of my own pattern I am whipping up.

What A Weekend

Wanted to get some sewing done this weekend so I got plenty of sewing done. But, first want to start off with a award I received from a wonderful woman by the name of Tanya her blog is called Sew Sassy Again. Thanks a bunch Tanya for the award. I totally love your blog and if you haven't nominated me totally would have nominated you.

I was surprise to get the award from Tanya. Tanya happen to come cross my blog a couple of months ago and have been stopping in since. I love her sewing projects she do great work. You go girl.:)

So now I have to nominate 7 people on my blog who should I give this Kreativ Blogger Award to hummmmmmm.

1. Christina - Crafty Christina because she does some great creative projects. With her crocheting and now she doing knitting. Waiting to see more sewing projects there Christina lol. :)

Notions: 3 navy buttons 3/4 inch and 1 7 inch black zipper

Pattern Description: Jeans/ that is a grayish black color, with 2 pockets in the back with flaps to the pockets and hip pockets in the front.

Pattern Sizing: Sizes 20 plus size

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Didn't follow a pattern used a pair of my old jeans to trace out a draft to make my jeans here.

Were the instructions easy to follow? I mainly used instructions on what I already knew when it comes to sewing. I used a couple of sewing books to get the idea of what I was doing.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This was my own pattern I liked it all.

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: There wasn't none.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I totally would sew this again. I am now getting the hang of drafting out my own patterns from old clothes and it fits fine. I would recommend it to those sewers that would like to take that chance.

Conclusion: Love my new jeans they fit lovely. I like that it's not to loose or to tight and it fits in all the right places. I just couldn't believe that I did this WOW :) LOL

What's on my sewing table for the upcoming weeks. I wont be doing much sewing this upcoming weekend going back go Green Bay my sweatheart's birthday is Friday. So will do as much sewing from now until Thursday.

I have plans to do Nesa some jeans and a shirt. Me 2 shirts and some jeans. I also want to do a hat for the first time to see how that turns out.

Later on down the line. I want to do a capelet with belt pattern I believe is by McCall also want to work on a cardigan and of course purses and more recons.

I will totally show off the purse as soon as I am done making it. I haven't yet to get started on it just got back home on Monday. So expect a picture of the purse later on in the week.

Ok finally home, my bday weekend was great had fun with my sweatheart. He planned a lovely Friday night with just the two of us at a nice hotel for the night. It was nice loved ever minute of it.

Spoiled Rotten lol, for those that know me I love to read from time to time. So I am not picky when people is buying me books love books. Well got so many books from my sweatheart and friends.

Also got other stuff that I didn't snap pictures of. I got a MAXIglide flat iron that I kept seeing on tv to get my hair long without working of a sweat in the bathroom for hours. I have very thick hair and trying to wear my hair down is hard sometimes due to my hair being so thick. I tried out the MAXIglide on Nesa and Nellie hair and love it so far.
Oh I got my hair braided the day before I left. Got me some sewing notions, like buttons, thread, more scissors, measuring tape, iron decor, magnet snaps and more.
Got some dishes, cups, pots, yarns, female personals. That's all I got so I have to say I was spoiled rotten this weekend.

Got to look at a few homes in Green Bay, WI love most of the homes but, looking to have stores like food stores, parks, or gas stations in walking distances. Don't want to have to drive all the time. Plus walking during the summer can totally help me lose weight and also get my kids actived they can walk on with me. So looking for those things in the areas. Plus some of the homes we looked at wasn't in our price range some was just right on the outside, everything in walking distance but, was to small on the inside. So we is still looking. Not in a rush. I go back to Green Bay on January 30th to look some more.

Ok enough about that. On to my crocheting. I haven't been doing a very long. I know I know naughty Lesa. But, I have been working on and off on my afghan it's coming along nicely for me to have just started this it amazes me how much I got done in a short amount of time.

Also what inspired me to even do this afghan was some fabric that I had that was supposed to have been used to make a skirt but, I never got to doing the skirt because it started to get cold outside but, I loved this fabric so much that I decided to make pillows out of them.

I took the colors from the fabric to use into my afghan so that it can somewhat connet with colors with both.

I still have more colors to add to my afghan so that the colors can match a little.

These pillows was quick and easy to do. Like how that turned out.

Ok now that's about it for now. I have some house cleanning and a little packing to do for the next couple of days.

Happy Bday, Blogoversary-Blog Contest, Latest Sewing Project

Well wanted to do this post early even though my bday isn't until Friday but, who says I can't start start having fun now. :)

Well Happy Bday to me. I am now 28 as of Friday. WOW how time flys by. I will be mainly not doing to much on my bday going to Green Bay for house hunting again and going out to eat and to the movies nothing to jump up and down about. I guess the older we get it's just another day.

Also on the 18th will be my Blogoversary that means I will now have blogged in this blog for 2 full years and on to my third year WOW, can't believe I had this blog so long. Can't believe I kept up with it so long. Amazing, I guess if it wasn't for having blogging friends, online I probably would have given it up.

All you ladies that I visit from time to time and that visits me thanks for coming by seeing and reading all about my life and hobbies. Sometime I know I may bore you all lol but, sorry at times don't have much to talk about or craft about.

But, wanted to do a Blogoversary give away.

I want to take this dress here and do a recon/recyle for the winner.

I want to make a purse so for those that want to join in on the contest then come on join in.

I did my sister a small baby bag she wanted a small one, one that isn't to big for one of those quick days where she don't need to carry alot of stuff so I came up with this bag.

She picked the fabric.

I have to pat myself on the back for this. I made me a pair of wide leg pants out of double knit fabric.

One reason why I am so proud of myself because it was my first attempt at so many things.
1. My first time putting a zipper into pants. I always put zippers in make of dress or skirts for my girls clothes but, never in the inseam of pants.
2. My first time doing side hip pockets on pants.

So while sewing my pants together I was just smiling at myself at how great they come out.

The pattern I used for these pants are Simpicity 4366

Oh by the way you all may remember that shirt. I made that shirt a couple of months ago just never worn it because I never had brown pants to go with it. So when I brought this fabric this is what I thought about making these pants for this shirt.

Pattern Sizing: plus size 22

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Somewhat, I made my pants legs wider then it asked for.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yep ver easy to follow.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I didn't have anything I didn't like about the pattern.

Fabric Used: Brown Double Knit, used a 7 inch carmel zipper and 3 3/4 buttons. The pattern asked for 3 1/2 buttons.

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I made one change the the pattern sized I used was a 22 but, for the pocket part of the pattern I used the size 16 I didn't want my pocket to be to big and overlaping.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would try this pattern again with denim. I would recommend it.

Conclusion: I liked how it came out.

My Sewing Mojo Is Gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My sewing mojo hit me in a flash. On New Years after writing my post on my blog I realized that that post probably have been like my 2nd post ever without pictures and it looked oh so different to not have a update on anything wow. So I put my sewing into over-kill after checking out a bunch of my blogger friends that sews it helped me to get inspired so I worked my butt off.

First I wanted to do me a 2009 resolution.

To design/create and write a couple of projects
To work on wearables more
To improve on my crocheting stills
To complete 3 full size afghans this year
Complete what I start at least try to

Sewing Resolution for 2009

I want to work more on my tailoring when it comes to jackets/coats
To sell wearables for all sizes and sell handbags on etsy
To start sewing more baby items
To entry into more sewing contests online and off line
Work on improving sewing jeans with zippers
Sew for my new home as in decorating sewing

My personally Resolution for 2009

Lose weight of course that probably is a lot of peoples goal
To finish at least 2 books a month
To get into knitting a little more
To get a home/change locate
Be a great mom of course

First wanted to do a recycle/reuse project.
Where I take these jeans and make it into a purse.

Here go the jeans I used

Also the strap is on by 2 buttons on each sides of the purse size is 7/8 color blue. There is also a purple zipper for closure zipper measures in 7 inches long.

Inside fabric is cotton purple.

This here is my own design no pattern followed.

Ok I know you all probably remember when I started this awhile back but, didn't have the mojo to finish it until now.

Here is where I was about a month in a half ago.

I worked on my trench jacket for the pass 2 days so that I could go ahead and complete it and get it off my sewing table. I was amazed at how well it turned out. I was like oh wow why I didn't finish this sooner.

This jacket is most likely to wear when the spring hits because due to it been light weight.

Pattern Description: Gray light weight jacket

Pattern Sizing: plus size 2x

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Didn't follow a pattern done, by me using a own jacket as my guideline.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Now instructions to follow I just used what I know about sewing and went with it.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the way I did this. For me to have not follow a pattern it totally came out just like I wanted it to.

Fabric Used: Laundere cotton or Twiller, cotton for inside lining, I also used 8 buttons size 1 1/4 4 of the buttons was used to button up the jacket the other 4 was used to put on the outside of the 4 pockets for a little design to the jacket.

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: There wasn't any alterations since this was my own.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would totally sew this again. I have plans in sewing this again but, used a thicker fabric like wool to make a coat instead of a jacket.

Conclusion: I loved how this came out. I will wear this around spring time since this is light weight it will work up better during the spring time. I like how it fit. I am totally proud of myself. Learning as I go. People have been amazed that I didn't have a pattern for this.

My sister a baby bag. She is having a girl next month and she has her baby shower this Saturday on her birthday so I was like oh wow let me get started on her a baby bag. She picked out the fabric so I have to work with what I have. Going to change up the pattern a bit because somethings about the pattern I don't really like.

Also I have another recycle/reuse project up my sleeve. My mom want me to cut up a old dress that she never liked that was giving to her as a gift. She wants a purse so I decided to do a recycle again just for her.

Other then that, that is all. No crochet update. Only been doing a little bit of crocheting on my afghan for my bed from time to time but, not much progress at least not just yet will totally keep everyone updated on that as time flies.

Happy New Year blogger friends. It's now 2009 I now have to get used to writing 2009 down. Soon my bday will be here WOW how time flies by so fast.

Well nothing to report on my crafts. My sweethear and his son is here so been busy with bring in a new year with friends and family so haven't really been crocheting, sewing or reading much. But, sometime new week I will get back started on my crafts. I have been missing sewing lately. Was watching Project Runway old shows yesterday it made me want to start back sewing.

I have somethings I want to sew and crochet up soon.

Also have been busy trying to find us a new house in Green Bay Wisconsin have to go check out a couple of houses on my bday January 16th wow some bday huh lol. Maybe that can be my bday gift for use to be able to get us our house sooner then later.

Oh wow my soon to be blogoversary will be coming up this will then end my 2 years or blogging and start my 3rd year of blogging wow. Amazing how long I could keep this up wow.:)

I still don't think I accomplished a lot of my goals I was shooting for when it came to my sewing and crocheting so I have to keep my eyes on the goals that I haven't completed. Wish me luck.

I hope everyone is having a great Christmas. My Christmas is great so far. Hating all this dang snow can't go places like I want to grrrr lol. But, my girls has been enjoying there Christmas here they go here opening up there toys.

Also finally get to say I finished Nellie RR on the 23 don't know the measurement of it but, was just glad to finally have finished it. YAY. Not giving it to Nellie until after we move so going to pack that down. Since I am buying new beds and all wanted her to have something new to go with her new bed. Will hopefully get started on something for Nesa next month or Feb.

I also started on me a afghan trying to do a full size one to fit my bed. Here go so far so good.

Started it on the 24 on Christmas Eve. While sitting around watching everyone else cook I had to keep my hands busy. I yet to cook for Christmas but, hopefully next year I can finally cook a Christmas dinner wish me luck on that next year lol.

But, cute so far. Have ways to go. Close up

I noticed now that it is the end of the year. I have so much unfinish projects.

My new years resolution will to finish what I start lol. So hoping to do that.

Not So Much

To report. Well been so busy around this house lately cleaning and so on. I have a couple of friends and my boyfriend coming in for Christmas staying for a week or so. So trying to get my house together for all the company I am going to have.

Also I have been thinking about moving to Green Bay or De Pere Wisconsin. I have been doing some research on houses there and making sure there are some good schools there for my girls. I always loved it up there it is up north so that means it will be much colder then then here in Milwaukee but, shoot oh well change is change and hoping it will be for the better. Plus I need a change completely. My family is ok with it and my girls so want to go. So never know I just may go sometime around spring. So around Feb next year me and my BF will be looking for a house. I will surely take pictures of our choices because Green Bay and De Pere has some wonderful houses. Plus I want my kids to grow up in a house with a big back yard and all. Right now they is grown up in a townhouse it's a ok area but, way to much crime going on here in Milwaukee.

But, anyways enough about that. I have been reading a lot more again. I finished 3 books in the pass 4 days and on to another book today. I haven't been doing much crocheting or sewing. Just don't have that mojo. I have been having way to much on my mind lately.

But, I know you all probably tired of this afghan so am I just yet not done with it yet have this last color to add to it then I am done. I just have to find more time in my day to work on it like I want to.

But, here it goes.

Also went to the movies to see "The Day The Earth Stood Still" it was a ok movie. Can't really say to much about it but, ok I will give it 3 stars.

This pass weekend nothing much just house cleaning the kids running around the house trying to find out where I hide there toys. One place they wont never find it is in my sewing room my living room under my cutting table they know they can't go messing with things in there so they wont never find there toys. LOL I would of done a tree but, don't have any room in my home to do a tree. That's another reason why I would love a house to do all those wonderful things like put a Christmas tree up. :)

Ok that's all just wanted to update my blog so you all wont thinking I am missing in action. Still around just in the background. Now have to check out my blogger friends blogs so I can try to get my mojo back in gear. :)

Ok sorry no updates on any sewing or crocheting projects. Just got back from Green Bay around 11pm last night. Not much crocheting on the road was busy a lot while there in Green Bay. But, going to rest up for the night and get back to my sewing tomorrow afternoon. We supposed to get from 6 to 10 inches of snow so that means I will be indoors for awhile. Went to do my food shopping today so there wont be no need to leave unless I have to leave.

So time to curl up in my bed with my crochet hook in hand a good book and some hot cocoa in hand and get to work lol.

Hey blogging friends. Well it's finally December, Christmas is just around the corner. I've been shopping a bit was going to be making a lot for this Christmas but, decided not to do to much since I have been moving around ever weekend I haven't been able to crochet and sew like I want to lately. So I decided to do a bit of shopping around this Christmas and make a few items.

I wanted to do a quick update today. I am leaving to go to Green Bay, WI this weekend to visit friends and my special friend if you all know what I mean. We have been having a long distance type of thing going on for a very long time. I try to visit every other weekend and he try to visit every other weekend or so. My kids likes him a lot but, anyways leaving this weekend for a little getaway that's all. So wanted to show what I have been working on this pass week or so.

I know you all remember the afghan I said, I wanted to finish this afghan for my mom by Christmas but, haven't been working on it as much as I was supposed to but, after reading Christina talking about working on her moms scrapghan gave me the idea to get on the roll with things. Thanks Christina :)

So I went to laid the hexagons down on the floor to see how I was going to put them together as you can see here in the picture below. I do have about 10 more hexagons in red that I have to whip up in order to complete the diamond shape that I am shooting for.

Here I put all the orange hexagons together.
It's coming along nicely. Now I have to get started on putting the red ones together. After putting them all together I still have a lot more to go. I will be working around the diamond in half double crochet stitches until the length that I want it to be. So have a lot to do. So now my deadline may be Feb or March yet to know. My plan is to work on it everyday if possible.

Ok on with this ripple round 12 point afghan I am doing for Nellie. I am almost done with this. I have 2 more whole yarns to go and that is the dark purple then I will be ending it off.

So far so good.

On with my sewing. Not much to say about my sewing but, here goes. I have been working on a trench jacket for myself done in grey. I probably showed the fabric before but, just started finally sewing it up.

Here is the front of the jacket. So far so good. I have 4 pockets 2 below and 2 top pockets. I have to put more details in the pockets for some design.

I yet to piece the front to the back yet.

Oh also by the way NO PATTERN FOLLOWED FOR THIS TRENCH JACKET. :) I took a old jacket and used that as my guildline. :) COOL HUH?

What I have to do to finish.
I have to serger in the inside of the jacket to hide the lining stitches of the jacket.
I have to add the collar.
Do belt hoops.
Do a belt.
Add buttons for closure.
Add buttons to the pockets for details.
Can't forget the sleeves.
Stitching/sergering the bottom of the jacket to the lining of the jacket.

Pretty much that's it. Then I am done.

So there you have it. My crocheting update and sewing update. Hoping to get back to sewing next week. Monday or Tuesday.

Crocheting I will be doing this weekend. Probably while on the Greyhound bus tomorrow. I can get in 2 hours of crocheting on Nellie Ripple Round afghan. So hopefully by next week. I can show that that is finished.

Latest Projects/Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was ok. Not exciting but, ok. I mainly spend time with my kids and there dad's side of the family. Got my eat on but, not to much since I am trying to watch what I eat.

But, got a bit of crocheting done. I got to do some kitchen towels and kitchen scrubbers for dishes. Nothing that fancy. Put a hold to alot of other crocheting projects due to be getting upset at the yarns lol.

Here go my latest kitchen towels.
One is shaped like a diamond another a circle that is a scrubber and another that is a long square. Sorry no blocking done on either one since they going to be getting wet anyway lol.

Also another crochet project is a Round Ripple 12 point Afghan that I am doing for Nellie. I have so much of my yarn that I got from ebay and decided to put it to use now. So going to work this in light, medium and dark purple. It's coming along nicely and just started it about 2 hours ago. So whatcha all think?

No sewing done this week. Haven't been having no sewing mojo this week. But, Saturday I found out that there is going to be a marthorn of Project Runway so hoping to sit down by my sewing machine Saturday and get some stuff done while watching it.

Week has been very grrr crazy. Monday meeting with the state for Kindship. On Tuesday meeting with Child Protective Services they wanted to ask my cousin questions about the things that went on in my aunt house to cause her to want to leave. Wedensday I had a doctors appointment just a little check up. Thursday Nellie had to go to the dentist and now today Friday Nellie had to get a couple of her teeth pulled out.

So let me show before and after pictures of my baby girl.

Awww my baby :( is tooth-less. She not in to much pain she has been sleeping since we got home and companing that it don't feel right. But, she is a trooper.

She had to get her 2 front teeth pull do to a little infection she had in her gums so glad that these are her baby teeth.

Ok a bit of my week crafting.
I worked on some slippers for me, Nesa and Nellie. No pattern followed just used our feet as guide. They came out nicely I believe.

Don't mind our ashy legs.:)LOL

Oh also I forgot that I made Nesa a scarf to go with her coat I made a couple of weeks ago so I took a quick picture of it.:)

Ok I took my girls to the Children's Museum. They have free family night's on the
3rd Thursday of ever month and we haven't been in a very long time so thought it would be nice to take my girls my niece and nephew plus my mom and sisters went also. The kids had a ball as you can see in all the pictures below.

Other then that I had fun.

Back To Crafting/But Still Reading

A little bit back into my crafting. For those that read my last post I am still reading I have finished 2 books since my last post and plan to try to read these 2 books here this week. If you didn't know now you know I am a urban and fiction reader. I have been checking out my blogger friends blog. I see I am not the only one behind on my crocheting and sewing while I read. So now I don't feel guilty at all lol. :)

But, back to crafting. Only work I got done was a little crocheting. I have missed it a bit. I have been getting packages from Annie's Hook and Needle Kit Club for now 3 months. They send you yarn and a pattern that you can do. Loved this pattern I got this month. It was of a table runner. Very cute. I have been thinking about changing my dinning room colors but, didn't know what I wanted it to be so this gave me a good idea. Light and dark brown with a bit of green and blue. So I made this table runner here.

Also here is the little fringes at the end of the table runner.
This pattern worked up quick only need to know 2 bases steps and I went for it. Finished in about 1 hour and a half or so due to me chasing after my kids lol.:) Overall love how it looks.

Here is the picture of the table runner of the pattern. I didn't do all the rows that the pattern asked for because I didn't want it to wide because I wanted enough room on my table for the placemats that I have plans to do.

So here will be the colors I used for my dinning room. Have plans to do some placemats also.

Also my mom gave be a pretty green stand for the bathroom. Due that my bathroom colors are blue this helps me also to change my bathroom colors. So have plans to change it to blueish, green.

So I got started on some mats to go on the stand for a little of deco. Also have plans to crochet a couple of towels for my bathroom.

So far so good. Have my own kind of pattern I am following just winging it so afterwards you all will see the finish project.

Other then that I am just trying to hang in there. Having a lot of issues with my cousin that lives with me. OMG I am so glad Nesa and Nellie have a long time before they are teens because I totally can't deal with this at times. Me and my cousin had a little falling out due that I said, that her boyfriend can't stay here. What I look like having my 16 year old cousin and her 16 year old boyfriend staying under my roof doing god only knowns what and she wants to have a hissy fit at me because he can't live here. She then wants to threaten to leave asking me can I get information about her going to a group home. So I got the information after the woman from the state told her that if she goes to a group home she wont never get to see her boyfriend. The woman said, that is a stupid reason to leave. The rules there are much worster then my rules. All I ask of her is 2 rules don't get pregnant so I made sure she got on the depo shot and the second rule is to go to school. Those are some simple rules. Now I didn't say her boyfriend can't come and visit but, after she talked to the woman from the state she then changed her mind and went to unpack. Also she know this from watching news that a teenage girl 15 years old homeless girl was raped and murder last week here where we live. What I don't understand is that she watched the news with me and said, that was sad but, she want to go out there and take that chance is what I don't understand.

I wanted to make sure she knew where I was coming from so I called up a friend of mines that is a counselor at a all boys group home things at the boys group home isn't no different then the all girls group home. He wanted to set her straight. So we went to his job. She then got to see that you don't have a room to yourself you will be sharing a room with about 3 to 4 other teenager girls. It maybe about 15 teenagers living there all at once. That you is most likely to end up fighting because there other teenagers come from some ruffer homes then she due and they are welling to protect what is there at no means. He let her know you can't eat when you want to you eat when everyone else eats. You can't come and go when you want to. You only leave to go to school but, if you in a group home where they teach you in the group home then you don't leave unless you live with the counselors. No company at all unless it is a family member. You can't be on the phone all times of the day. Or on the internet all day. There is only 1 TV and you have to watch what everybody else watch. You have to be in the bed by 9;30PM. You can't get a job unless you have a good grade point averge. He walked us though the group home and she just starts crying because she knew that if she went to a group home she wont have all the freedom that she have now. Dang teenagers. She stays with me she has her own room, phone, internet, cable, food she can eat when she is hungry her school is just 3 blocks from the house. I buy her all her personally things she needs clothes shoes and all. I told her you should be greatful that I am welling to take you into my home with my 2 kids and rise you like my own even though she is my little cousin.

She said, she is gratefully I said, I don't want you to say it I want you to prove to me you is gratefully by staying here and finishing schools and don't get pregnant. That is all I ask of her.

I asked my mom was I like that when I was a teen because if I was I am truely sorry. She said, I wasn't like that at all. I am like what the hell is happening to all these damn teenagers now days. They can't get they way they want to make everyone else feel guilty. Grrrrrrr.

Grr sorry had to vent there a little bit. But, that has been stressful. Me upset and crying hoping she don't make the wrong choice but, all I can do is hope and pray that she makes the right choice. I said, all I could say so I just have to sit back and wait.

No WIP

Sorry ever since Halloween I haven't been sewing or crocheting haven't had any mojo for either lately but,I noticed that I have been reading a lot more lately. Finished 2 books in less then a week and about to finish another one sometime tonight. So I see that I got that mojo back. Plus it takes me to another world even though it's fiction it let's me see that others have problems besides me crazy huh?

I have been so busy with life it has been so stressful. I am trying to get kinship of my cousin due to some family issues and it has caused a lot of grief with my aunt so that has been so damn stressful when you have to tell a 40 something woman to take care of her damn kids. But, enough about that. I am just hoping everything goes well with that soon.

So don't have no pictures of any sewing or crocheting projects. I did start on a hat for Nesa but, I have to say that I only started on it but, yet to get in 5 rows crazy huh lol. Yet to sew in awhile but, hoping to get myself back on the roll with that.

Nesa couldn't have her surgery Wednesday due to a cold she had so that had to be changed to December the 3th. She is doing ok other words just a little cold that all our kids gets nothing bad so that's a good thing just from the weather changing.

Happy Halloween blogging friends.
Hope everyone have a great upcoming weekend. It's so closed to Thanksgiving. WOW how time flies by so fast.

Hope everyone getting out and voting Tuesday I know I will be there. November 4th don't you all forget it.

Well on to my projects. I don't have much so show because I haven't been crocheting as much as I normal like to do. Or sewing. I have been a little lazy lately sitting around reading alot lately so I decided while I am reading to go ahead and finish up this bag that I was winging up as I went.

I didn't know what I was doing I was just going with the flow of it.

So I know you all remember this picture of the twists I was working on.

After noticing that I will need to pieces I decided to whip up a second piece so I can have a front and back piece.

I had half of a circle that is what it started to turn out to be so I was like ok then I will be having 2 circle pieces.
Here go one of the pieces that have the half of the circle.

I had to connect the half of the circle to make a full circle.
Like here.

But, still wasn't done because if I have that big hole in the middle nothing wont stay in the bag at all lol.
Closed up the hole here to both pieces.
I also crochet around both circles but, only crocheting in the backloop to make the sides and the top of the bag to help with the zipper and the closing when I whip stitch it closed.

Here is where I put in the zipper. I couldn't use a tan color zipper didn't have one so I had to go with the black zipper.
After adding the zipper I turn it inside out and crochet the whole bag closed.

So what do you all think cute huh? Sorry no pattern. Just wing it. I worked by turning and working crochet stitches in the front of the bag more like post stitching to the bag.

Ok nothing much more to share. But, I did rearrange my sewing area. I noticed since I rearranged it I haven't much sewn in there yet. But, want to give you all a tour.

First let me give you a little bit of glimps of my yarn stash.
I have got to much to the point I have to put some in bags and in crates.

This is where my sewing magic is made. Where I get to watch a bit of tv and sew away. See I have cut out my fabric to my jacket but, yet to see it it's just sitting there waiting to be sewn up. Soon so soon.

Here is my cutting and iron table. Look at my board in the background that is my WIP board but, yet to put any work on there yet.

Here is where my fabric and nick nacks are. I have boxes and containers full of fabrics.

Here is where I keep my serger, threads and more nick nacks including more boxes of fabrics and my clothing rack.

Just to all let you know this is supposed to be my living room that I basely took over and made it into my sewing room. Poor living room had to become my crafting around.

Saturday take my grandmom shopping, go by Barnes and Nobles with Nesa's aunt on her dad's side. I have game nights at my house with friends and family
Sunday not much going on just probably laying back and watching tv and reading, oh have to pick up Nesa from her dad's house.

Wednesday Nesa have surgery
Thursday go food shopping and sewing or crocheting, or reading which everone comes first

Finish crochet projects and upcoming projects

Hey blog world. Well it's now Saturday I haven't been that busy this pass week like I was the following week.
Not much sewing this pass week. I said, I wanted to take just a little bit of a brake to get a flew crocheting done.

So I whipped up a small tote bag from the yarn I got from Annies Attic. All done in half single stitches. Didn't have much yarn so I tried my best with the yarn I had.

I totally forgot about our swap blog. So I want to keep it going but, with this board. I believe this board is bigger and easy to get around. So the more people join the more I am able to start having more things on there. Looking for volunteers to mange a couple of contests and swaps. I think if others are able to mange then it will help keeping the board running well and so that all of it wont be just on me to run the board.

From Friday To Friday

Remember for those that read my last post I was trying to do some thing this week. So I set myself a time limit for somethings I wanted to do. So let me tell you all how my week went from Friday to Friday. Here goes.

Friday I cut out patterns and fabric for my upcoming projects.

Saturday I did my sister baby blanket for my niece.

Here goes a picture.

Fabric is fleece plaid with double pink satin ribbon going around the fleece.
Lenght is 38 1/2 inches
Width is 30 inches
I added 2 pretty pink bows on two ends of the blanket to give it some pretty unique-ness. I hand sewn the satin ribbon on. Due that trying to sew fleece between satin it just don't work with the sewing machine.

Also on Saturday I did some little recon work.
Nesa has some pretty shirts that she can still fit but, the sleeves are starting to get a little to short due to her arms growing so long lol. So instead of her now just wearing them anymore. You all should know me by now. I did some little work by cutting the sleeves to make them short sleeves and just sewn it up.

Sunday I started and finished a shirt for myself.

I know you all totally remember this pattern.

I worked on this shirt for about 5 to 6 hours. This shirt was totally something new to me never done it but, I did take brakes in between.

Pattern Size: Plus size 18 to 24

Description: A base tunic shirt with a tank top under it. The tunic twist in the front.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Some what I did a little changes to mines but, it does look like the photo on the envelope.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very easy I didn't have no problem with the instructions.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Don't have no dislikes. I liked it. Love the twist in the front it fits very well.

Pattern Alteration or any design change you made? I only made one change and that was making the sleeves shorter and wider. To give it a little flow in the arms.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would sew it again. I already have plans in doing me a red one like this for Christmas. I would recommed it to others as well.

Conclusion: This tunic with the tank top turn out great love the fabric I picked out was totally surprised at how well it turn out.:)

Monday I started on my sister sweatshirt jacket worked on it for about 2 hours.

Tuesday no sewing got my tooth pulled and wasn't into do anything for this day.

Wednesday finished sister sweatshirt jacket after about 2 hours. I did my sister sweatshirt jacket just like mines.

What was crazy about this was I did mines and didn't have no problem but, trying to redo it I was totally confused lol. I had to go back looking at mines seeing how I did it. Crazy how that was. Doing it twice the same way was no joke but, I didn't have no problem with the zipper this time lol.

Pattern Size: Plus size

Description: Black sweatshirt jacket with a hood and 2 pockets with a zipper that is 22 inches in length

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Didn't follow no pattern my own.

Were the instructions easy to follow? No instructions to follow just used my sewing stills to do this sweatshirt jacket.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? No dislikes.

Pattern Alteration or any design change you made? No alterations to be made my own pattern

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would sew this again well this is my again sewing my second time sewing this same project.

Conclusion: I made this sweatshirt jacket from a own sweatshirt jacket of mines. My sister wanted one so I made this one for her. It came out lovely.

Also on Wednesday I started sewing up Nesa coat worked on it for about 1 hour.

Thursday finished Nesa coat after about 2 hours.

Description: Cute blue fleece coat with 2 pockets, collar and it buttons done the front.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes somewhat I didn't do the fur that goes around the collar and I didn't use the fake fur for the coat. But, it come out like it.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Easy to follow.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? No dislikes.

Pattern Alteration or any design change you made? No alterations unless you count that I didn't use the fake fur or the fur around the collar. I also added a hook thing for to be used to hang up on the hook.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would sew it again. I already have plans to do one for my youngest daughter. I would recommend it.

Conclusion: This coat turned out lovely my daughter totally loves it and I do to.:)

Also on Thursday started cutting out the fabric to my coat. So far so good.

Friday I started cutting out lining to my coat. Did some shopping but, not much sewing today.

Ok not much crocheting but, I got this yarn and a pattern for a felt purse from Annies and Attic due that I join some kind of Hooks and Needles club that I totally forgot about it.

Here is the yarn and pattern. But, I don't know if I am going to use this yarn to make this purse. I am going to make a purse but, don't know if it will be this purse. For those that don't know me very well not into reading patterns as much. Don't get me wrong I can read them but, I rather go on the wing of things when it comes to crocheting I get more relaxed that way and don't feel stressed out when it comes to reading and following a pattern that's just me I guess.

Yet another weekend to come

Hey blogger friends. It's Friday so it's time for me to get on a roll with my weekend projects. Oh by the way for those that didn't know who won my blog contest with the sudoku blanket. Christina was the winner and wanted to show off what the prize was that I sent to her.

This was the prize. Since she got her package I wanted to show what she got. From what she said in her blog she loved everything. Glad you liked everything. I also sent her some more things that says welcome to the sewing world lol. You can check pictures of that on her blog HERE.

Ok enough about that. I also have a update on a crocheting project that I finally finished earlier this morning.

Nellie little sweater jacket that I was going to make a hood to it but, changed my mind because it wasn't working out like I wanted it to.

But, here go some step by step on that.

Tell you the truth it didn't come out like I wanted it to come out. One reason was I didn't have Nellie as my guide to wing the project. I always use her to keep having her try it on ever so offen. But, have to say it came out ok I just want to now redo one of the sleeves it looked like I decrease way to much. But, Nellie loves it.

I finished my little nieces blanket. I had to hand sew the lace between the fleece due that I didn't want the fabric to gather to quickly then the lace. WOW I haven't hand sew that much in a very long time. But, it came out wonderful see.

My weekend to come.

Well for those that remember my sweatshirt jacket on my last post well my sister loved it way to much that she went to buy the same black sweatshirt fabric with some pretty sky blue cotton fabric for the lining and came begging me to make her one so now on to working another jacket. I told her I will hold her jacket hostage until Nellie and Nesa get there hair done lol. See she do for me by doing me and my kids hair I do for her by sewing a job for a job that's how I put it lol.

So here is the fabric.

Also I want to do Nesa a coat. Here is the fabric and the pattern I decided to go with. I loved this fleece fabric so cute aint it. The lining will problem be white and some of the left over fabric blue for my sister lining for her jacket. Have to put my scraps to work.

I haven't yet decided if I am going to go buttons or zipper I guess I will decide that a little later.:) but, hoping to start cutting out the pattern this weekend.

Also up my sleeves is another baby blanket for my niece that will be born in Feb. Here is the fabric and the ribbon my sister brought.

I have a couple more things up my sleeve still have to do some shirts for me and my coat so I am hoping to really sit down and get to cutting about 4 different projects so wish me luck. I totally need to give myself some time limits to projects. I just don't spend enough time sewing as I used to. No excuess just lazy at times lol. But going to my friends blogs that sews does inspire me a lot so off I go.

No new crochet projects up my sleeves yet I want to get back to some afghans that I am trying to finish my Christmas haven't got anything else with crocheting haven't been inspired with that lately I noticed that myself. So I will have to tap my crochet hooks together and say some words to myself to get myself on a roll.

Sew So Sew I am So Finally Done

Well with my hoodie jacket. I can finally say I am done with it. I slept most of my night last night sewing and sewing and sewing to make sure I got this jacket done. I have to say I am very pleased with how it turned out. It turned out very nice. I did started getting mad at it for awhile due that the zipper wasn't acting right. I wanted to throw the zipper across the room but, I had said, ok I can do this after taking my stitches out for the second time it finally paid off and worked like I wanted it to. So let me take you to the world of my sewing with this jacket.

Ok here is the fabric I said, I was going to used with the thread and zipper.

After doing all my cutting I got the back and the 2 front pieces on just like I wanted it. I even added a 3 inch strip of fabric on both ends of the front so that will be where the zipper will lay. Also you can see that my pockets are pinned in just waiting to get sewn down.

Here if you look I now have the lining in. The lining is just the back and the 2 front piece I didn't want to use it for the hood or sleeves. But, also I now have the sleeves on. Almost there.

Here I am now completely done. The hood is attached the bottom ends not raw anymore the end of the sleeves not raw. The zipper is now in after a big fight we had lol.

Now I can finally say I am done. I worn it today it feels so warm and soft. My sister now wont me to do her one also. She wants the same black but, a different lining for the inside. I will see lol. That means I will have to fight again with a zipper lol.

Also my sister found out that she will be having a girl so she expect me to be making baby blankets. The day she found out she brought this fleece fabric over.

Cute huh? I have lots of rolls of lace and I thought I will add some lace to this fleece to make her a baby blanket. She now have plans to go buy about 7 more fleece so I can make more lol. She said, shoot. I have a sister that sew why go buy a blanket that cost 15 to 20 dollars when I can go get 2 yards of fleece for 2 dollars and say here big sis lol. So looks like I will be making lots of baby stuff these next couple of months. I don't mind. I like that my sister thinking outside of the box to help her save. Don't mind at all. Because that is what I do. Save save save.

Example the sweatsuit fabric for my jacket cost 2 dollars a yard. I got 3 yards but, I only used 2 yards so that was 4 dollars the lining cost 1 dollar a yard I got 3 yards due that I wanted some extra for something else but, I only used 2 yards at the most don't think it was 2 but, rounding it to 2 anyway. Ok the thread don't count because I already had the thread the zipper was 1.50. So my total for my jacket was 7.50 cool huh. Now think about if I brought that in the store. Save a lot.

Ok enough about money hope I didn't hurt anyones head out there lol.

But, a little crocheting update.

I started on a jacket for Nellie. Thinking about adding a hood haven't yet decided if I want to add a hood, due that I may have to wing it as I go. I still debating on zipper or buttons hmmmmmm I will hope to figure that out by time I am done.

But, so far I am working the the back so far. Then have to get the 2 front pieces the 2 sleeves and will go from there on.

Haven't much been crocheting lately like I want to been trying to find some quick and easy crocheting projects so I can step away from the 2 afghans I am working on. Oh by the way working this jacket in seed stitch. :) Love this yarn so soft and bulk.:)

Well I totally had fun making that sudoku blanket and I see a lot of you all had fun also but, I think I made it way to easy lol. I will have to probably do that again but, make a harder one and try to bring in 2009 doing another blog sudoku contest how fun is that but, this time I want to try to write out a pattern. I am always saying that but, yet to do it. I just go for it.

Also my upcoming weekend I want to get started on my hoodie sweatsuit jacket.

Here is the fabric and things I plan to use.
The sweatsuit fabric I got from Walmart for 2 dollars a yard. I got 4 yards I believe I wanted to have a little extra probably for another sewing project. Also the other fabric the blue and gray fabric is for the lining. I really don't need lining inside of the sweatsuit jacket but, I want it anyways mainly for the back and the front inside lining just to give it a little more of a uniqueness to it. Also got a 26 inche zipper and black and blue thread. I just have to now get cutting the fabric and get started. Oh by the way not using a pattern. I am using a old sweatsuit jacket of mines for my pattern so wish me luck.

Ok another project up my sleeves that I have been putting aside for way to long.
Want to start on a jacket this time no chop jacket a long jacket. More like a short like trench jacket.

This is the fabric I am using it's grey. For the inside lining will be grey and white cotton. Also have 6 buttons that I believe is 1/8 in inches. I plan to have 2 square pockets on the outside front of the jacket with 4 buttons for closing the jacket and also black and natural color thread. Little more details but, I will get to that while I am doing the jacket.

Oh by the way no pattern for this one either. I will do the same thing on how I did my chop jacket. I used a old leather jacket of mines for the measurements.

Ok that's it. Don't have much to report been busy on the same things with crocheting but, now working on some other projects that I can't show but, can show in the furture.

Sudoku Anyone (Blog Contest)

I have been finished with this Sudoku throw/blanket for awhile yet to put it up since I wanted to use it as a blog contest so here goes for those that knowns how to play sudoku then have fun with it.

For those that don't know what sudoku is it's a game of logic, based on a grid of 9 columns and 9 rows. This subdvided into nine 3 by 3 squares which are known as boxes.

There is a prize winner for the first one to solve the puzzle but, first lets read the rules.

"Green" Sewing and Crocheting

Well not really GREEN as in the color green. Green as in recycle.
Well I am back and ready to show and tell. Show a bit of my recycle/reuse projects.

First want to start with my sewing. I know I know been sewing a lot lately I also noticed that myself but, I also got in a bit of crocheting will get to that a little later on in this post but, first want to start with this latest recycle project.

Well my mom liked my bucket purse so much that she brought over a pair of old gaucho pants that she out grew due to her losing a bit of weight and these gauchos just was laying around doing nothing and she felt they needed to become a new purse for her.

So here is the gaucho pants before I worked my miracle at hand lol.

I try to use every piece of a pair of pants, skirt or whatever to my advantage.

See here I cut out the pockets and the waist band. Will totally use them both.

This is the pockets I cut off. Also decided to use that flower fabric for the lining has a pretty tan and brown to it so thats why I picked these two threads for the purse.

This pictures is after I put together the top and the side pieces that's the back and front of the purse also the pocket right dead in the middle. This is before sewing th other end of the purse together.

Here is the lining with the 2 pockets for the inside.

After I did everything I needed to do that includes sewing the bottom part of the bag also sewing the fabric pieces together just like I did the outter pieces. I then line up the lining and the denim and put in a metal snap for closure.

Here is the purse after I am done. Those two pockets is on both sides of the purse. I also use the waist band to make the strap of the purse.

Here go the lining of the purse. I made 2 pockets in the inside on both sides of the purse.

Also what is a purse without the change purse to go with it.

I used the pattern from Simplicity 3771 for the shirt and the pants. Well the pants wasn't pants on the pattern they was capris but, since it's starting to get cooler here in Milwaukee, I thought that I would make them longer to suit our weather.

Also the shirt I did a little alterations just a bit to suit what I want. You can read more of that at Patternreview.com, my review. I am also entry this shirt for a Kids Contest over at Patternreview.com. Also so wish me luck. I am thinking about trying to entry another project before the contest ends. I will try.:)

Now let's step away from sewing for a bit and step back into my crocheting world.

I have been crocheting but, not as much as I always done. But, I decided to start on a couple of Christmas projects since they may take long.

Here I decided to start on a hexgon afghan for my mom for Christmas. I am doing it in cherry, and frosted orange. These is the colors my mom picked I love these colors. Also this yarn I never worked with before. It's called Frosted Look by Malina. Never heard of this yarn but, totally like it. So far I have about 55 hexgon in both colors each done so that gives me 110 done so far. My plan is to try to do at least 350 to 400 depending on how much yarn I have as I keep going. I really want to try to finish by Thanksgiving so I will see.

Also this is another crochet project this is for me. Doing myself a hexgon afghan also. I seen how fast these hexgons was working up for my moms afghan I decided to try to do me a afghan also. Now my deadline for this is also Christmas. I am using Red Heart yarn, black and shocking pink.

Reuse. Recycle - Make Something New

Well my title says it all reuse, recycle make something new and that is just want I did.

I visit the Thift Store a couple of days ago and found a lot of things I liked. For example like these jeans here:

These jeans I so fall in love with because I like how it's all patchy made with about 5 different color denims in one. I knew I wouldn't be buying them to wear them they was way small for me but, the prize was just right 3.99. Can't beat that huh? Soon as I seen these jeans I knew what I wanted to make those jeans into.

A purse for guess who ME.

I haven't made myself a purse in awhile. I totally needed one.

Ok still not done. Here go some old jeans of mines. My cousin loved my purse so much she asked me to make her a messager bag. One where the strap is long enough to go around her head and shoulders.

So these are the jeans that will be a messager bag.
I also had a little of the denim left from my purse so I also used that for this messager bag.

This messager bag has a flap, long strap, 2 pockets under the flap that came off the back of the jeans, also lining with 2 more pockets on the inside. On the outside for a pretty design that she picked out is the world LOVE with hearts.:)

What's Happening In The Blogging World

Well on my in everything is just peachy. Had slept a couple more days in the hospital with Nesa will catch you all up on that a little bit later at the end of my post.

But, wanted to show off my latest sewing project. I started on a chop jacket for myself you know one of those small jackets. I started on it last Saturday trying to finish it up by Sunday night but, come Sunday morning I had to rush Nesa to the hospital.

But, I started this jacket off with no pattern. I had a very old leather jacket that I had for years that just been sitting in the closet going to waste. So since I wasn't wearing it no more due to it started to fall apart. I decided to cut it carefully so I can use it as a pattern for a jacket.

Here go the jacket right after I cut it up I remember I didn't take no picture of it. So I laid it out on the table in pieces and got a couple of pics.

But, since I was making a chop jacket I only needed the top half of the jacket.

My work in progress as I go on and on.

This is what I had so far after cutting out the back the 2 front pieces even the lining pieces.

Cute huh? By the way that fabric is from a old shirt I have so much of that fabric that I decided what better way to use it then to use it for a lining.

The back, I added some long darts down the back to give it that fit feeling to my body so it wont be to loose and flabby in the back.

Here I added on the back collar: Oh by the way the whole jacket have 2 different color denims the fold front collar and the back collar denim on the inside is a light faded black. The outside denim jacket is blue.

I wanted to do a quick try on to see how it is all coming along.
So here is a quick try on of the jacket.

As you can see still not done here have to add the bottom piece of the jacket. Sew up my raw edges to the sleeves and add buttons and button holes.

I just so love this jacket I put a lot of work into it did a lot of tailoring as I went thought about it as I sewn it up. So was happy to finally finish this jacket.
I added 2 buttons to the front of the jacket it can be worn out or close depending on how I feel that day. I also added a nice button in the back with a detachment so it can be unbutton but, that button the the back is more for a design I won't use that much.

Sewing for kids haven't yet to decide what I am going to do just yet. It starts on the first we have a whole month to finish so have plenty of time. But, I know I want to sew for Nesa since school is coming soon. I wanted to add some more clothes to her wardobe.

I found these patterns at Walmart and this Mickey Mouse fabric. I haven't yet decided which pattern to use. I know I want to do one of those shirts haven't decided. Or decided if I am going to do her a skirt, capris or some jeans hmmmmmmmm have a lot of thinking this weekend.

And for the Stash Pattern haven't decided on that either was thinking about doing that shirt that I keep talking about that I yet to cut out the fabric lol.

Ok now on with Nesa. I am going to try to keep this short because just talking about it just makes tears come to my eyes.

Well Nesa wasn't feeling good Sunday morning around 2am she was moaning and crying that her belly hurt. Since this has a enlarge liver I have to concern what can happen just by her having belly pain. But, she also felt hot to the touch checked her temp, her temp was 102.5 so I called, the on call GI doctor they told me to bring her in.

Soon as we get there she goes back to the ER. Nesa started throwing up everywhere. They checking her heartrate, temp everything. Her heartrate was way to high they hook her up to a machine to keep a eye on how high her heartrate is going. They they noticed her oxgyen level is to low so they put a oxgyen mask on her. I was so scared just watching all this. She got CT scans, Xrays and Ulrasounds so they can make sure her liver wasn't failing so quickly.

They then gave her a room while we wait for her tests to come back. They thinking she had MRSA but, it turned out to be C Difficile a infection to her intestinal tract.

Now Nesa after 4 days of pain meds and antibiotics.

I am just glad she is back at home. She still have to take antibiotics until this goes away. Which doctors don't think it will go to far due that it can keep coming back. So I am hoping it don't because Nesa already having diffcult time as it is with just her liver now she can have problems with her intestinal tract which way to much for a 6 year old.

She is happy and glad to be back home. School started Tuesday so I can't wait and she can't wait either.

WOW Where Have The Time Went

Well can't stay gone to long. Ok a little behind on all of my projects that I had in mind to try to finish up soon. Nesa haven't been feeling to good for the pass week or so then she had to have another surgery August 20th so I have been keeping a good eye on her and not to much on my hooks or sewing machine.

My Carebear blanket that I was trying to finish up by the 24th has been put on hold so wont be finishing that anytime soon for the 2008 Crochet Games of Ancient Greece over on the Ville.

Way behind on that but, still want to make that a goal for myself to finish.

Ok on with a little crocheting that I was able to do real quick. My Sudoku throw/blanket. Well was able to start putting together a bit here and there so this is what I have so far.

Then here go more squares that need to be put together.

I had to do 35 white square that has black numbers and grey border.
I had to do 45 black square that has white numbers and grey border.

Now I can start piecing them together to make the puzzle and hopeful sometime by September I can put it up on my blog to have a contest. Still be saying I was going to do a contest for months and yet to do one so this time I really have to get it done for sure. Also have to come up with some things to crochet or sew up for the winner of that contest.

Ok like I said, before Nesa haven't been feeling to good lately so my sewing mojo hasn't been what I wanted it to be. Did some checking in on most of my blogger friends and said, I need my sewing mojo back. So went to my sewing room looking at old projects that I haven't yet to finish that I needed to do right now. So I went back to my shirt I know you all remember this shirt.

Oh by the way there is a black tank top under my new shirt I made. I used silk satin fabric I believe, it was so easy to work with.

Also no pattern used, this is my own.

Couldn't get no back view of it because Nesa was my camera person and everytime I turn so she can get a back view she keep snap down at the floor lol. But, have to say she did good on these pictures but, it took 20 something trys lol. She trying to be a camera pro lol. :) GOOD JOB NESA!!!!

I always noticed when I put a project aside I come back to it and then see that it wasn't that much to finish and wonder why I took so long to get back to it. Crazy huh?

But, now that I am getting a bit of my sewing mojo back I want to start this pattern I showed it before but, here is pattern.

It's the main shirt with the tie in the front. I want to use this fabric for this shirt. This will be my first time doing this shirt so wish me luck because I need all the luck I can get with this. :)

I keep finding myself ordering more patterns or bidding on them on ebay or find myself picking up some from Walmart or Joanne's. But, yet to use the ones I already have totally need my sewing mojo back soon. Because fall is coming soon and I have a lot of stuff I want to make for me and my girls. My family already looking for me to make them things for the fall also as if I am the famous sewer in our family lol. :)

2008 Crochet Games of Ancient Greece

On Crochetville I decide to join in on the fun. The 2008 Crochet Games of Ancient Greece. All you have to do is start a crochet project and try to finish it by the 24th. So I decided to do a afghan. I am on "Team Afghan" The afghan I am doing is a Carebear "Funshine" It is challenging for me because I am crocheting the background and cross stitching the bear into the middle. Really not a cross stitcher at all but, it is coming along very well. Started my afghan on the 8th and I have to say I have got a lot done in just that amount of time. I have a game plan going on. I would crochet about 10 rows then cross stitch those rows then crochet about 10 more rows then cross stitch those rows. It is whipping up quicker then I thought. I was going to crochet the whole background but, after noticing that I can get lost on the rows I decided on my plan B. I think plan B is better.

This is a picture graph of what I am hoping to finish by the 24th.

Here is the picture of the whole afghan that I am expecting to do.
Got the pattern from Leisure Book Art. The afghan is chain 111 so that is 110 across and 158 rows going down but, that don't include the border I believe the border is about 10 rows around not sure haven't got that far. :)

As you can see I have scraps of yarn going around the ends I did that because I am not into tallying up my rows as I go so by me putting in scraps of yarn helps me to just count those to see how many rows I have. So just don't mind the scraps of yarn when I get to the border those will be cut off. I just felt that, that was easier on me when it came to counting the rows.

So just wanted to update real quick that is all I have been working on since the 8th and maybe my only project for awhile. My goal is to get the whole bear cross stitched in my Wednesday then start on the letters. And hopefully to get those done by next Saturday then start on the border hoping to stay ahead of my own plans as I go. Because I do tend to get bored out after awhile and trying not to. But, don't want to start another project because I have a feeling I wouldn't want to come back to this one for awhile.

Long Time No Blog

Well it haven't been that long. Just been having some family issues everyone know how that can get. It's summer and lots of people I know is moving in and moving out so been helping family and friends move. Nesa and Nellie been having fun with there dads so I have been having sometime to myself mainly out going to clubs, going out to eat and to the movies so been having a little ball for awhile. I have noticed that I haven't been doing much crocheting last time I crochet was July 23th and that is when I finished up my shrug jacket I was working on. So here is my latest crochet project.

I haven't finished sewing my shirt that I had put on hold for so long decided to get back to sewing it sometime this week it's been laying on the table just laughing at me because I don't have much to do with it but, I just been holding out on it.

There go my latest update have another week to myself so I will have all the fun I can have until the girls come home. We supposed to be going to 6 Flags Great American hopefuly this weekend coming up. That would be fun.

Well right now started on another shrug jacket done in mohair.
Also working on and off on my sudoku blanket.
Also have to get started on my moms throw blanket.
My cousin wants me to do her a cardigan wrap.
I have some other blankets/afghans in mind to do that I want to sell.

Trying not to overload myself so I will have to come up with a small project soon. Doing so many big projects and not small projects I tend to get overhelmed.

I picked some blue and brown fabric for that main shirt on the pattern. Love this shirt hoping to comes out right.

Now other patterns in my future line up to try is.

A trend coat. Want to try to do this around fall time.

Would like to try the pants that has the zipper below this will also help me with doing pockets on pants and zippers on pants haven't yet to do that yet.

Also one of my cousins has some patterns of her own that she want me to do somethings for her. My family is totally loving my talent lol, using me to make something smaller or bigger for them.

Also on my sewing table is me a chopped denim jacket I yet to sew up. A baby bag for my sisters friend. I haven't sewing a purse or bag in awhile so that would give me a little of a different pace there. A lot of other baby stuff sometime before this year is over. Because my sister is due in Februry and I know she is going to want somethings she already been naming things she want and picking out sewing patterns. Hummmm I think that is it for now.

Blankie Crazy!!!!!

Ok Nesa surgery went fine still no differents with her veins. Right now they want to keep her on the liver transplanet list but, she's not in the top of the list due that she isn't in danger right now. So still have to keep doing her month injections to help keep her veins from bleeding. So hoping that all goes well like it did today. Glad to be home after I am done updating my blog I am off to sleep. Been at the hosptial since 6 am and I am tried.

But, this will be the last time you all see this blanket. Totally now done with Nesa blanket.

Here go Nesa at the hospital waiting to go to surgery. See look at how long this blanket is. This is how I wanted it to be able to fit the hosptial bed.

Here go Nesa after her surgery sleeping like a little baby. You only can see her hair she wasn't ready to get up yet, to the left is her dad just waiting her is little girl to wake up.:) awwww

So there you have it you got to see the finish project of this blanket. Thanks to all the lovely ladies that sent all the pretty squares to make this blanket for my baby girl.

For all the squares that was to big or I got after the 20th of July I will still use them to do Nesa a pillow to go with her blanket.:) Thanks ladies.

Now on to another project. A blogger friend of mines name Katrina had her 4th child a little girl by the name of Kalynn Jai, congrats Katrina. Well while I was waiting for some yarn that I got off of ebay to come hoping to get it before Katrina popped lol but, it was to late she popped before I got my yarn. One reason was because I wanted to make her new baby girl Kalynn something. T the time I didn't know what to make her baby girl but, after getting my yarn I had finally figured out to make her a little baby blanket. I went on Ravelry and a couple other websites to get inspired to figure out how I wanted the blanket done. So I figured out I will do this.

No pattern followed sorry. I did get inspired by Mary Jane Merry Go Round Blanket, I think that is what it is called but, I didn't do it like that. I made folds in the blanket as it goes around I increased to have fold creses in the blanket. It took me awhile to figure out how to do this but, after awhile I got the hang of it and whipped it up in no time.

Ok while due that blanket my sister just loved it and wanted me to do her a blanket. But, I didn't want to do the same blanket.

I remember looking around on Ravelry I noticed that the starghans was very well known. So I decided to do one but, my own way to the star. So here is how it looks so far not done yet.

I decided to do more of a 3D kind of star. Not done but, I made it so that this can also have folds but, higher up folds where that after I am done it will be pushed down and sewn into the blanket where it would look like a star inside of a star but, also on top of a star. Different huh?

I don't know if you all remember that I was trying to do a Sudoku blanket awhile ago. I gave up on it due to that I just didn't want to do it lol. But, I decided to give it a try again but, this time I am doing it totally different then before. Before I crochet the numbers in but, this time decided to stitch in the numbers. It save time for me I thought that would go quickier have to say I has went quick. To complete the whole unsolve Sudoku puzzle I need to do 36 white squares and 45 black squares. With black numbers on the white squaures and white numbers on the black squares with grey border around all the squares. Then I have to put them all together then work the outter part of the blanket in grey, blanket and white. So this will take some time but, have to say so far it has went quick see.

See so far got all the white squares done. I hope those numbers look right what you all think?

What I had plan after this blanket is due I wanted to post it on my blog as a contest. So for those that know how to play Sudoku or for those that want to give it a try you can solve my blanket and the first one that can solve the whole puzzle will get a gift box from me with some goodies in it. So for those that want to give it a try hoping to be done with this blanket by the middle of August keeping my fingers cross.:)

Ok no more crochet update sorry not sewing update haven't got back to my sewing yet. But, that's all for now my latest.

Little Reading, Crocheting, Sewing and Playing With My Yarn

How is everyone doing this week so far so good? Well everything is going ok on my end. Kids doing good mainly being kids as always. This month is going fast already pretty soon Nesa next surgery will be around the corner. Well on the 23th Nesa has another surgery to determine what they will do next. So keeping my fingers cross and praying every night that all goes well. Have to meet with the tranplants plant team that day also while she is in surgery they just want to talk about what will be next and so on and so on. Nesa blanket is coming along nicely would like to thank the latest lovely ladies that sent Nesa some wonderful squares. Tinabrook from the Ville, and Nicole from the Ville and Thekidneybean (Laura) one of my blogger friends thanks. You like to check out the squares that Laura sent me you can click HERE. She made some wonderful squares. I didn't take pictures of every squares I got due to that more uploading pictures and me an my time schedule it just wont do. But, here is the whole blanket to give you a overall on what it looks like so far.

Also on with my crocheting but, first let me brag a bit lol. Was so happy to finally get my package from a Ebay seller. I was bidding on a yarn mix lot on ebay fighting for it. I so wanted it so badly. It was 18 pounds of yarn. I liked all the colors and everything so I bidded and bidded trying to not go over my limit but, had finally got it. So now let me show off what I got.

Hummmmmmm don't you just love all of that yarn. A lot of it is vintage yarn, yarn I haven't never seen but, by reading the tags on most of the yarn you can tell that they are old. I even went looking online to look them up and most of them isn't made anymore. So I have to try to do the best I can with what I have huh. But, so far my mom came over saying omg you is going yarn crazy lol but, then later she pointing at the yarn she wants for me to make her a throw blanket for when she is laying in her lazyboy chair. But, first I have some things I want to do first.

I decided to use this yarn to make me a shrug jacket.

So far so good, doing in mesh stitching.

Have a lot more to do for this one but, so far so good here.

Now on to my reading, Well I used to read a lot lot but, due that I don't have that much time in the day I did put a bit of my reading on hold. But, when my friends came up for the 4th of July weekend it brought back memories. Back in high school and college when we was always reading and talking about what was going on in the books we was reading. Exchanging books and so on and so on. They was talking about books and things when they was here I couldn't relate because I haven't been reading or trying to read but, they got me hooked again. I have a library full of books and most of them just collecting dust day in and day out. But, they was kind enough to get me a few books so. I started back reading. I am more of a urban book reader. So far I finished one book in 2 days called Sistah For Sale it was a ok book I'll give it 3 stars. Now I am on to another book called Diamond Playgirls so far so good. This book has 4 of my favorite authors in one. But, other then that I want to read a lot more. If I have to read while crocheting then that is what I have to do lol.

Ok on with my sewing. Not much sewing. Started on a shirt for me. Have to finish up the back part of the shirt then I will be done with that.

First July Post (Still Kicking and Screaming)

I'm around. Got a couple of emails everyone concern and hoping all was well. Everything is ok. My girls and I are doing fine. My girls was gone for the 4th of July weekend and I had time to myself. Got to go out have a little fun with some friends. But, all is well. Been working on putting Nesa blanket together that is coming along quickly. I am giving myself until the 20th to have it completely done. More lovely ladies is sending more squares so as they come I just get weaving them on. Thanks to all the lovely ladies from the CVille Criskad (Christina), Titus2woman, Pineknott, Ms Danny and Mom w/a motif. Thanks ladies.

Also got to do me some sewing. I brought these plain white capris. I wanted to make me some white capris but, couldn't find no plain white double knitted fabric anywhere. Everywhere I went they had the printed white mixed with other colors. So I decided to buy me some plain white capris to go with the shirt I had in mind to make for me.

So I took some DMC floss and did a little stitching at the end and on the upper part of the pocket just to add a little pink to it.

So now on with my shirt. Here is the fabric I have in mind to make for my shirt. Don't know what kind of fabric but, it looks like some knitting kind of fabric that I fell in love with when I seen it at Walmart for 1 dollar a yard but, I knew I would have to wear something under it due to that you can see everything though the fabric. But, I knew I had a pink tank top at home that would look nice with this fabric.

Daughter's Charity Blanket Update

As some lovely ladies from the CVille and friends from the blogging world donated my daugther some cute crochet and knit squares. I put them together as they come in the mail.

So far so good. It's coming along great. Loving all the squares that is being donated. My daughter Nesa is so happy as more packages roll up and she get to see all the cute squares. She sits right by me while I put the squares together asking me when can I have it. lol

Hoping to be done with her blanket/afghan by the 20th so she can take it with her to her next surgery on the 23th.

While making this blanket made me think back to when we had went to Disney World for Nesa's "Make A Wish" At Give Kids A World.

Really haven't been doing a lot of other projects. Getting Nesa blanket has been number 1 lately. But, a couple of future projects has got started a little bit. That is another afghan but, for me. Didn't know how much easy it would be to do a afghan never done one bigger then a small baby blanket so decide to do one for me to throw across my bed. Also another afghan for Nellie. So so far have 3 afghans to try to do all at once.

Also hoping to start working on a cardigan for me. Waiting for some yarn I got from Ebay to come. OMG I can't wait until all this yarn I got come I want to take pictures because it's a LOT. But, I already have plans for most of the yarn and I havne't got it yet lol. So when that come in want to start whipping me up a cardigan. I want one due to when Nesa is in the hospital it tends to get cold to me and thought instead of walking around with a blanket around me I could have a cardigan to wear around the hosptial. Something not to hot but, can keep me from being a little cold.

Weave Away/Crochet WIP

Totally not talking about hair weave. So this is what I have been working on.

I decided to try something new yet different with fabric. I've always liked how weaving looked in baskets. But, I yet to give it a try. So I cut up some stretch denim into strips

As you can see here:

I cut a lot of strips.

So now work with me so you all can see what is this going to be.
No not a basket lol.

Here I laid it out into the weaving order.
Pinning it into place and top stitching over it to keep all the strips in place.

Still wonder hummmm what am I doing.

Here I then cut out the pattern I wanted. Can you tell what it is?

Now you can see what it really was.

I just was trying something new yet different. Liked how this turned out. But, now I would like to give this a try again but, with like 4 or 5 different color denims to make me a short denim skirt. I thought that would look oh so nice.

I did get this idea from watching way to much Project Runway can't wait until the new season starts next month. :)

I did have to put in linning in the inside of that one weaved part to keep from seening my skin though the gaps in between the weaving.

But, this did come out nice. Liked how it turned out.

Update Nesa/Crochet/Sewing

Well TGIF :)

A quick update on my daughter Nesa. Well finally decided to update my blog been feeling all down and mopping around the house lately can't sleep due to me worrying to much but, trying to stay strong.

Well Nesa had yet another surgery on Tuesday. It went somewhat ok but, not what I thought it would be. I was told by her GI doctor that due to Nesa's veins in her chest and stomach growing to big that they can burst and she can bleed to death. Now that set me off right there. They have been doing these little surgeries where they go in and inject Nesa's veins to keep them from not getting bigger but, it seems to not be working so now the next step is to put Nesa back on the liver transplant list. That was the last choice so that is what they have to do.

Me hearing this just set me off all day Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I have been worring keeping a very close eye on Nesa. Making sure she wont bleed. Grrr me typing this just making me ball out in tears.

But, I decided to do my baby girl a crochet blanket to take with her everytime she go to the hospital. There was some lovely ladies from Crochetville that sent me squares last year to do Nesa a very colorful blanket that Nesa takes with her everytime we go to the hospital but, I decided to do her another one with my special touch to it by putting words on her blanket in the middle center piece. "My Lovely Girl Nesa"

But, getting a little help from some lovely ladies from the Ville.

So that is the latest update. They plan to do the injection every month until they can find a liver. But, first next month me and my family will all go for testing. They like to start with family first and go from there. I will totally try to keep everyone updated.

Now I did get to get in a bit of crocheting and sewing. Due to me stressing sewing and crocheting kept me together late at night when I couldn't sleep.

So I got to finish me a shrug. Also a tank top.
Warning the top is the same fabric from another shirt I made.
I had extra fabric left and didn't want it to go to waste.
So I used it to make a quick tank top.
I made the shrug due to me not liking to showing off all of my arms they way to flabby lol:)

This is a picture of a button I put on my tank top straps so I can put the button in between the crochet stitches. I decided to due this due to everytime I make me a shrug it tends to fall off at the shoulders one point or another so putting the button helps to keep the shrug from falling off.

Just Hanging Around

Well now it is summer vacation for Nesa. She is happy to be out of school. Now I have 2 to drive me crazy lol. But, hope everyone is having a great weekend. So far so good. Me and my girls plan on going to the zoo sometime this week. They more want to go to the water parks to get wet. Our weather here in Milwaukee is to confusing for me to have them going to get wet.

Nesa have another surgery coming up this Tuesday so I wanted to update my blog this weekend because aint not telling when I will have time again. But, I do get to get in some crocheting from time to time.

I was supposed to had put my hook down for awhile, while I worked on some sewing projects but, I found myself picking up my hook again from time to time at night while watching tv. I guess I couldn't keep the hook out of my hand to long.

So here are my latest crochet projects. Have to say I totally loved how Nellie outfit came out.

I made her a belly tank top that ties around her neck and tie up down the back. I liked what I did to her other tank so I decided to do another one but, a little different as you can see. Oh also made her a skirt.

Started on tank on June 8, 2008 Finished June 10, 2008. Again took a brake from time to time.
Both done with a H hook
Done with single, double and treble stitches
Yarn used was Caron Simply and Soft in purple and white

Now I decided to do me another outfit. Wasn't so glad about how the shirt turned out I know next time not to use Sheer fabric again. But, I worked with it hoping it paid off and it pay off ok. I changed up the sleeves a bit then what the pattern asks for. I cut if father up I liked it that way more.

There you have it my latest projects, sewing and crocheting. I have another sewing for myself hoping to get started on it sometime Sunday or Monday. First hoping to make my dressform since I haven't been able to buy one that I like. I decided to make me one. Duct tape is the key lol.

I have a couple of small projects to do while I am at Nesa's surgery something to keep me busy doing that time.

June 10th was my baby girl Nesa's bday she is now 6 years old. Awwww. My baby is growing up so fast.:)

She had a little bday party at school with her friends.:)

Skirt has a little ribbon around the skirt at the bottom for a little design with a bow.:)

The pattern I followed for both of these I can't find a picture of it on Simplicity. That must means it's a old pattern or something.

But, other then that. I am sewing a couple more outfits for Nesa and Nellie. I started cutting out a pattern for me another outfit. I also been picking up my crochet hook from time to time at night when I am curled up in the bed with a good movie. I am working out a little some some for Nellie. Hoping to be done with it by this weekend or say.:)
