Ok Here I Go Again/Pay It Forward

I went ahead and did a PAY IT FORWARD on Gold's Blog. How this works is I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PAY IT FORWARD/PIF exchange. I don't have no clue of what I will make at this time you won't know what it is until you receive your gift, but also you will receive it within 365 days, that is the promise I will make to those 3 people.
The only thing you have to do in return is PAY IT FORWARD by making the same promise on your blog. Come on and join. This will be fun if you love getting nice things in the mail.

There you have it PAY IT FORWARD.:)

Now on to my crocheting part of this topic.

I got my daughter Nellie's tie down sweater with a hat to match. Love how the hat turned out. Have to confess again this is my very very first time doing a hat it took me awhile to get it like I want had about 3 or 4 tries but, I got it down. Watching way to much crochet videos did help a bit. I had plenty of this yarn left after finishing Nellie sweater so I thought let me give it a try and try a hat.

Step by step progress.

2 front and back pieces

No pictures for the sleeves I wasn't home while doing the sleeves. But, I also didn't want her to have long sleeves or to short sleeves so I did it in between giving a little over the elbow type sleeves. I also hated when I had to do sleeves it took longer time to me to do the sleeves so I did both of sleeves at the same time working around the arm hole to both sleeves from both ends of the yarn.

But, here go the finished progress.

Now here goes the hat

Have to say I am proud of myself on how the hat turned out.

Also the stitches in the hat is just Dc, Sc and SL didn't do the same pattern stitches that is in the sweater. Since this was my first time doing a hat I wanted to do some easier stitch patterns in the hat but, the stitches I used in the tie down sweater I got from this book I brought called Easy To Crochet 63 Pattern Stitches The pattern stitch I used is called, Ripple Stitch (Multiple of 3+2 chs)
My very first time using this stitch. I thought well time for me to get out of the same ole stitches and try some new stitch pattens so I went ahead and done that have plans to try some more of the stitches on some future projects.:)

Yarn: Red Heart, Claret
Hook: I
Stitches: Double, Sc, Ch = worked up to make Ripple Stitch

Ok now after finishing this project you know me had to start on another project so now working on my oldest daughter Nesa a shroat also.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
So far it's a Shracket. Nesa shroat going to be much different from Nellie's shroat. Nesa's bell like sleeves are going to start at her elbows down instead from wrist down. Also her's going to be longer and also going to have a one tie string to close it in the front.
Since I gave this pattern a try the first 2 times it came some natural when I started this one. Make me want to make me one lol.

After this shroat I want to make Nesa a brown hat to go with her scarf I was going to do it on the knitty loom but, it's going to take longer that way plus since I practices making a hat I should be able to whip this up in no time. Then I want to also make Nellie a hat scarf set to go with her coat. So those are my newest projects. That hopeful I should be done with by oh say Saturday.:) I would say Friday but, going to be very busy Thursday and Friday sewing from some girls that live by me. So wont get in much crocheting like I want those 2 days.

Oh also a update on my Knit Night group meet up. Oh yeah sorry no pictures I was running so late trying to get there that I forgot my dang camera sorry. But, I got some help lots of help. I can now hold the yarn with my left hand while knitting at first I didn't like much of holding the yarn with my right if felt so funny that way since I crochet I hold the yarn with my left it was more natural that way. Still haven't knitted up anything at least not just yet, just mainly doing small pieces so I can get used to holding the needles and yarn. I am so used to one hook and yarn. Oh also I can now purl yay me lol. :)

Ok that's it there got to go. Thanks to all that be leaving some great comments and feedback. Thanks.

Everyone have a great day, night, whatever. Take care.:)

MY HOOK IS ON FIRE

Really well at least my J hook was on fire this weekend lol, Well had a couple of projects I wanted to get done this week. Still working on my daughter Nellie a sweater. Dang time changed and you can tell it is so getting closer to snow falling. So I want to try to get my girls some hats done and my daughter Nellie her own scarf also. Also have a couple of projects I would love to try to finish before the new year starts. So I set up a CAL on Crochetville to see if some others would like to take the CAL challenge with me.
CAL Before 2008

Also I had a big laugh with my sister yesterday she came by and she seen this small piece of a rectangle that I had crocheted, my sister said, and now what you crocheting you just can't seem to put your hook and yarn down for nothing lol. I said, that is going to be Nellie a jacket like shroat she said, out of this. I said, girl I just getting started I said, first I have to make that rectangle bigger in order to finish it. She looked at me crazy saying you going to make a jacket out of a damn retangle. I said, YEAH lol.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
This is what she was talking about lol.

Ok have to confess now. I finally read a patten and did the pattern step by step I am so used to just reading a pattern then I get overhelm and just wing it myself but, this time I have to say, I went for it. I always record all the Uncommon Threads shows that comes on DIY mainly the ones that is all about crocheting only and I went back watching them and seen the show when Crochet Nation was on there making Shrugs, Shrackets, Shroats, and Shraps. So I thought well let me give that a try went to DIY and found the pattern. Read it over and over and over so I could get it on my head then I went with with it.

So about 15-20 after my sister left that rectangle became bigger then it became a shrug Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Then about 10-15 more minutes later it became a shracket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Then about 15 more minutes later I had a shroat I was oh so done and had a shroat for my daughter Nellie.

Now about 30 minutes after I finished and took my daughter pictures with her shroat my sister comes back over to get on my computer and she says dang I know you not done that fast. LOL

My other sister seen Nellie shroat today and asked if I can do one for her daughter my niece I said, sure I can whip that up in like 40 minutes or so.

So here is the finished project on my nieces shroat. I crochet this shroat while sitting at my moms watching Simpsons.

I AM ON A ROLL

Well been crocheting like a storm. It does helps to relieve some stress have so much on my mind when it comes to my oldest daughter so me crocheting is just a big stress relief. I can't believe it is November already WOW time flies so fast soon my bday will be coming right back around. My girls already talking about Christmas toys already. Soon snow will be falling I so hate the snow. Don't mind the cold I just hate the snow and ice and living in Milwaukee we tend to have way to much of it.

Well finally finished up my little daughter Nellie's boat-neck shirt. She so loves it. She said, mom I want another one like this. She ran to my boxes of yarn picking out the colors she wanted for her next boat-neck shirt. LOL dont know about making another one I told her I need to get to make you some sweaters.
Sorry now pattern my own trial and error

Ok now for me I have been done with my second bolero for a couple of days just put the buttons on yesterday. Was going to use a zipper but, couldn't find a light weight zipper that wouldn't make my bolero sag in the front so decided to use some buttons.

Had to block it.

Sorry no pattern my own trial and error.

So how do you like it?

Well you can say I have giving knitting a little of a go. I see it is very slow progress. I can cast on and garter stitch but, other then that I haven't yet to try anything else. So so different then crocheting so used to crocheting because it goes faster I can finish 5 rows of crocheting that is chain of 20 in less then 2 minutes but, when I was knitting it took me more then at least 7 minutes to finish up 20 stitches in 1 row and also I work the yarn in my left hand while crocheting but, other words while knitting I have to work it with my right hand and it really don't feel right but, I gave it a shot I am not going to give up on it I wont let this knitting beat me. I didn't like the crocheting beat me. I learn that on my own and still everyday I try to try something different and new with it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
See there I can so knit lol.
After giving this a go I went ahead and took it off the needles. I re-done over and over and over still trying to make sure my stitches not to tight so I can put the needles back thou the yarn. Didn't give up and still going to give it a big shot. Have that Knit Night meet-up Monday night at 6 PM so will ask the ladies everything I can think of when it comes to learning to knit.

But, there you have it. Thanks to all that is keeping my daughter Nesa in there prayers and thoughts thanks :)

Everyone have a great weekend take care now you here:)

Got To Catch Up

Oh I am so tried. Happy Halloween everyone.

Been running and running all day and yesterday barely got any sleep yesterday. My daughter Nesa had to see her GI doctor OMG we was there for like 5 hours all these tests they was running was so scaring me out my mind. Her doctor is concern about her liver it is getting bigger oh for those that don't know my daughter Nesa has a liver diease called Biliary Atresia A diease she was born with and will always have for the rest of her life. The link will tell you more about BA just me thinking about explaining it will make me get way to emotionally.

But, well ok her GI doctor just wanted to run some liver screen test take blood get a ultra sound everything you name it he was doing. Now he want to set up another liver biopsy in a couple of weeks just to take a sample of her liver and look at it under the microscope. So I will hear from him about when that will take place.

Spent so much time there that after we left I decided to go to this used bookstore that I haven't been to in a long time. My girls love books and I do to. I found just one crochet book but, nothing more for me got my girls a lot of books.

Oh also started and finished up my daughter Nesa a scarf with her nick name Nesa on it started and finished it at the doctors office.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Here she go my big girl Nesa she is the one I was talking about with the liver diease.
Her new scarf is the same color as her coat.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
See do you see her name NESA Oh so cute.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Here is a crochet stitch book I found at that bookstore. It has a lot of stitches and I want to try a lot of new stitches so when I seen that this book was only 1 dollar and 95 cent shoot you can't beat that. Couldnt find any more crochet books that caught my eyes mainly a lot of knitting books that I didn't want. But, here I am working on my daughter Nellie a sweater. :)

Ok woke up early this morning so I could drive over to the other side of the city to go to Joanne and Walmart I had plans to go get my zippers, some tan buttons, some fabric and some interfacing fabric and that was going to be it but, it didn't go as plan lol.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
As you can see this is how it went. Here go my Red Heart collection

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Oh by the way here is more here goes my Bernat collection. I want to make my little daughter Nellie a sweater with this yarn. After I brought it I realize that it was 2 different colors but, when you look at it you really cant tell but, shoot her sweater just will have 2 different pretty blues.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Wait wait just a minute her go more. My Caron collection. Oh also a stitch book oh and that go my knitting kit I brought that sometime last month but, I just now finding it, guess where it was lol. I have like 3 big boxes full of yarn when I got back I went though my boxes and found it way way at the bottom of one of my boxes.
This week makes 2 years that I have been crocheting so I wanted to go ahead and get into knitting also. I found a Knit Night group on Ravelry that meets up here in Milwaukee on Mondays. I told them I don't knit but, they say that don't worry about it there are crocheters there also and they is willing to teach me so shoot I will go ahead and give it a try this coming Monday and see how it goes.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Oh that aint it here go some fabric I brought to probably do my oldest daughter some more shirts and shrugs I just have to learn to finish the ones that is cut on my sewing table first lol. Oh and also some Peaches N Cream yarn.

After reading Christina blog about RAOK I realized I haven't done a RAOK in awhile back when they was doing group 5 and 6 on Crochetville so I decided to go ahead and sign up again. I made my wish list I read a couple of wish lists and decided to send a nice lady these.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Aint they cute, and they smell oh so GOOD. :)

Oh there you have it have to go get going kids yelling at me because they are hungry lol.

Everyone have a great Halloween BOOOOOOOOOOO :)

Hey Blogger Friends

Well it's Monday weekend is over. I have alot to do today at my daughters school so wanted to post on my blog before I leave because I know I wont be able to get back online probably into tomorrow. So here goes.

I did my daughter Nesa a shrug I sewn it love the fabric I found at Walmart for 1 dollar a yard so I got 4 yards. After finishing up her shrug I felt it was to plain need some jazz to it. So being the crocheter I am I had to do some crochet edging on it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Dont mind her Winnie the Pooh grown I had her try this on last night when it was time for bedtime but, you all get the picture.

I also have plans to use the rest of the fabric to make a matching shirt to go under her shrug with some crochet edging at the end of her shirt. Update on that later in the week.

But, until then more shrug pictures, I use yarn by No Boundaries love that yarn so soft.

Ok I had a doctors appointment so while sitting in the doctors office and in the WIC office I had to take my yarn and hook with me and get some crocheting done. But, I wanted to do a quick project something that don't take up to much room while doing it. So I whipped up this hair rap for me today.

Side, oh don't mind my hair need to get a lining but, you all get the picture.

Close up

Close up on the straps that goes around the ponytale.

A quick and easy project.

Chain 200. I have lots of hair and need the long straps to be able to go around my ponytail a couple of times. Mainly was done in single and double crochet with lots of decreasing to help it rap around my head giving it that head like shape.

Mainly of choice this was done by trial and error again. I just mainly used myself as the model since it was for me to keep testing it out as I crocheted.

Got a lot of people in the WIC office looking and watching me saying WOW you do that quick. Or asking how you learn? Who taught you? so on and so on mainly the same questions I always get when in public.
One woman at the WIC office said, dang girl you able to look at me and talk while you do that. I laughed because I so forgot I was crocheting because me and her was so much into our conversation. I said, yeah I am able to do this in the dark while using the tv as my light. :)

Always get lots of people wondering things when I be crocheting in public. :)

So that's my Monday ready to go get my girls dress so we can go. Everyone have a great Monday:) So what you all think of my latest projects?

Saturday It Is (Quick Update)

Ok my girls gone this weekend so it has given me time to do some crocheting last night and this morning couldn't sleep because I was so much into my crocheting and into that move called The Reaping. I started on me another bolero and next thing I noticed while watching the Reaping I was finishing up the back part of the bolero and starting on the front. The Reaping was good I liked it. Well here is a little update on my WIP Crocheting.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Here is me another bolero this time I am going to do a zipper in the front with longer sleeves. I should be done with this by tonight but, I have to buy a zipper wont be going to go to Joanne into Wednesday or Thrusday due to my daughter going to a Halloween party at school on Monday and I am helping with some of the things at the school then on Tuesday my girls has doctors appointment and where I live I have to drive on the other side of the city just to go to Joanne so that leaves me going a little later in the week so then I should have a complete finish on this bolero.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Ok WIP number 2 is my daughter Nellie a boat-neck shirt in red and white. Have to finish the sleeves and work around the collar then I will be done here also. :)

This next WIP 3 will probably be another big project due to it being my Sudoku Blanket.:) Here is a quick overall of it.:)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

As you can see that is just the start. Don't know how big this sudoku blanket is going to be but, it is going to take time due to me having to do the numbers that is what times more time there.

This is how the sudoku puzzle look that I am doing.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
As you can see the one that is done so far is in the top left corner.

Ok picture this in your head. The first left corner that I have the picture above the background is black with white numbers with the white going around the black.

Then the middle part of the sudoku will be white background with black numbers with with black going around the white.

So it will go first box to the left black middle white right black
second boxes left white middle black right white
so on and so on :)

Ok thats my WIP crochet no pics on my work in project sewing but, have some things almost done for my oldest daughter just have to double stitch a few things and iron them then when she gets home I can take some pictures.

Ok now back to my weekend ALONE needed a big brake. Love my girls but, at times I just need MOMMY time. Have a couple of movies I like to watch while I crochet. :)

Everyone have a great weekend:)
