Well been sewing my butt off lately so wanted to update with all of my latest projects.:)
Well since spring is around the corner I thought I would start on doing a little bit of spring clothes for myself.
Thanks to the comments about my hair ladies was trying something new by giving it a bit of red. :)
Oh by the way warning this post contents a couple of reviews also my daughter Nesa is the one taking my pictures she begged to take them so I let her try it out. :)She did a great job. Don't you all think?
Saturday shirt number 1 A 3 hour project.
So let me start off with this tunic that is by McCall 5556
I totally love this fabric loving the colors and all. This fabric was only 1.50 a yard at Walmart and I got 3 yards. :)

Pattern Review:
Fabric: Double Knit
Pattern Description: Loose fitting, pullover tunic has self or contrast collar, collar band, front band and hem bands with side slits, button and loop closures, three-quarter length sleeves; tunics A, B have contrast sleeve bands with slit opening, button and loop closures; sleeves for tunic C consist of upper and lower sections with stays and bubble-effect finishing.
Pattern Sizing: (8-10-12-14-16), (18W-20W-22W-24W) I did 24W
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Some what it looked like the picture I just changed alot of details.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy to read and understand.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Didn't have any dislikes at all.
Fabric Used: Blueish green double knit.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: Didn't use the back or front hem band, just did a small hem by folding and sergering to make my own hem edging. Gave it more of a V shape done the middle of the front of the shirt didn't do the buttons. Also didn't use the sleeve stay because I didn't want a stiff sleeve I wanted a bell like sleeve for more of a flow to it.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yeah, I will sew this again and recommend it. It's a great tunic with lightweight fabric for spring wear.
Conclusion: Like how it came out came out lovely. I think I did a great job with this tunic.
Now here go my Sunday shirt number 2 I worked yet another 3 hour project. This fabric I used for this tunic was also 1.50 a yard at Walmart I got 3 yards.
This pattern is also another McCall 5757

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Nah not really did a few changes in the alternation area. But, somewhat I sticked to most of the details.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy to read and understand.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Didn't have any dislikes at all.
Fabric Used: Silk double knit, black, grey and light blue
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I did longer sleeves and gave it a bell like to the sleeves. Didn't do ribbons or jewels appliques or roess on the top side of the tunic.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yeah, I will sew this again and recommend it. It's a great tunic with lightweight fabric for spring wear.
Conclusion: Like how it came out came out it's very nice looking on me. I think I did a great job with this tunic.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? So so I did a lot of the details in the pattern but, did some changes to make it my own.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy to read and understand.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Didn't have any dislikes at all.
Fabric Used: Silk double knit, purple, grey, black
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: Didn't use the patch work at the top going around the collar. I also closed up my front collar piece it don't have that open open doing down the middle in the front.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yeah, I will sew this again and recommend it. It's a great tunic with lightweight fabric for spring wear.
Conclusion: Like how it came out came out it's very nice looking on me. I think I did a great job with this tunic.

Pattern is from Simplicity 3870
In the making:

Picture 2 lining
Front 1
Front 2

Back close up on button and waist band
Close up on lining in the inside
Pattern Review:
Fabric: Pleather/Leather and cotton
Pattern Description: A jacket with 4 pockets C, a jacket with no pockets B. Plus Size Jacket, Gauchos and Pants
Pattern Sizing: 18W-20W-22W-24W), KK(26W-28W-30W-32W) I did 26W
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? So so I did a lot of the details in the pattern but, did some changes to make it my own.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy to read and understand.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Didn't have any dislikes at all.
Fabric Used: Black Leather and blue cotton for the lining
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: Didn't do all 4 pockets only did 2 pockets did my own pocket sizing 7 by 7 and the flap 6 1/2 inches long. I wanted my pockets to be bigger then what the pattern asks for. I also used 8 buttons size 7/8 gold. I did my own measurements for the button holes in the front of the jacket I did 5 inches apart from each other. I also made a slice on the right and left side of the jacket at the bottom to give it that more of a movement to ti so it wont be so tight around my waist since I was working with leather. I also added a fabric piece that measures in 1 1/2 inches in width that is sewn around the back of the jacket where the waist is. I also added a little flap fold with a button right there also to give it a more of a design to it. To give it my own design I change this jacket a bit as you can see.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yeah would sew this again probably in denim since leather works up a lot of time I think I would do it in a lighter weight fabric next time.
Conclusion: Like how this came out love that I gave it my own style to fit me. :)

WOW! You are a real sewing machine. All of the work you produced this weekend looks fantastic.
Lesa, you created lots of dazzling outfits! You never cease to amaze me! Honestly, your creations made me take another look at these patterns! I look forward to more additions to your enviable wardrobe! Cheers, Louella ;-)
Lesa you have a natural talent for sewing. My sewing machine and I HATE each other. :( Maybe I need to take a class or something. Great work on all your blouses and what a great deal you could barely get those prices even if it was clearance rack! (Which by the way I love the clearance rack...) :-)
All i can say is WOW! I love everything, as usual you did a fantatic job.
Wow! what a passion. i wish i have time like u. They all look great on u! Beautiful job.
WOW! You did what I'd been thinking about! A sewing weeking! Everything looks great!
Wo! That's more than a marathon. You're in sewing overdrive. I really like the tunics you made. They are very flattering. I'm going to have to check out silk double knit combos. The fabric is fantastic looking.
Girl you have been busy!!I am loving all of it.They look great on you.
Oh, I totally LOVE the first top!! That is so gorgeous!!
Way to go, ladies! An occasional sewing marathon is good for the soul. You've turn out some very nice pieces for your spring wardrobe.
Wow you did great! I love the tops. And for $4.50 total, what a bargain! And they don't look like a bargain.
Hi! Your sewing machine must be smoking. You have some great new tops for spring! They look great!
Wow, you've been so busy! I can't believe how much you get done...I feel like a slacker in comparison! Your projects look amazing, like always. Great job!
I love your new tops. I bet you had some fun sewing all those up.
I agree with the other comments - wow! I can't believe you got all of that done in just four days!
All of the clothes look great, but I especially like the first top (the blue one) - very pretty! And less than $5 for the entire top? That's awesome!
I think the purple looks nice on you. I wear a lot of black or brown pants, because I feel self concious about how heavy the lower part of my body is, but I love bright colored tops.
Go Lesa!! Your marathon paid off! You're looking good in these beautiful creations.
Staring at your mini collection with emerald eyes, everything looks great. Now if only I could produce that many garments in 4 days.
You go girl. You have alot of great pieces to take you into Spring.
Every project looks really nice on you. I love your choice of fabrics...my favorite is the first one ;)
Lesa, I nominated you for the Sisterhood Award. Check out my blog on what you have to do. Thanks for all your inspiration!
Lesa, you are just too cool! I also nominate you for the sisterhood award!
