Last Post For Year 2007

WOW how time fly by so quickly 2008 is only 2 days away. Dang that means my birthday is 18 days away. Proud to say that I will be 27 years old omg how time fly by so quick.

Ok enough about that. Well haven't been to much into my crafting like I want to be due to me having friends visiting me from out of town so had to entertain most of this pass week but, I couldn't stay away from my crafting to to long. Been cleaning and remodeling to get room for a lot of new things I got for Christmas. Well I had to test drive my new sewing machine just mainly did a quick couple of projects some recons for my girls. If you look at the picture below those are what I used for my recons. One of the shirts is Roca Wear I got that for my niece but, after I put it on her she is so chubby lol that the snaps between her legs wouldn't snap and stay snapped lol. So I mainly just took the shirt and cut off the bottom part and made it into a plain shirt now she totally can fit it. Now the other recons is for my girls they always playing house and dress up you know how little girls can be. They always want a purse I've made them so so many but, they keep on coming back for more so I take clothes that neither one of them can't fit anymore and well make them a purse a backpack whatever they be wanting. A couple of chop chop with scissors and sew sew and I did a couple of quick sewing recon in about 15 minutes.

My girls will love these when they get back home:)They both gone for the holidays I know when they get back they probably can't wait to play with all they Christmas toys. Only if I can make toys I really could save money lol.

Ok haven't crocheted since well Monday, OMG aint that hard to believe lol, like I said, been entertaining my guests. I got so much yarn for Christmas that I felt today I needed to get a project going quickly. So I started on me a shirt so far so good. This shirt going to be SC rib at the bottom and striped white and light country blue thoughout the whole shirt. So far I have started on the ribbing part.

Photobucket
So far so good. I like working the back and the front at the same time it goes quicker for me. So I use both ends of the yarn on the skein to get my shirt started. More updates on this as I go.

I am done with 3 of my projects I want to put on my Etsy shop but, yet to do the beaded handles for 2 of the projects I will try to get that started after new years my guests should be leaving around the 2nd or 3rd so then that will give me time to really get into my crafting mood. I will surely take pictures and show you all what will be on Etsy. I have to get started back on my projects for the Pay It Forward have a lot of sewing to do for those so sorry wont be any pictures on those but, all 3 of the women I am giving the Pay It Forward to has blogs you never know they many just take a picture or 2 and post it. :)

Ok for those that don't have snow I want to send snow your way from my way lol.

Enjoy the view.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas I know I did. :)

Oh that's right a quick update wanted my blog readers to know that I have started a swap blog called Swap Swap Gals wanted to bring in the new year with a swap blog for those that love to do swaps come and join us. Don't worry it's not for you to swap every month you choice the months you like to swap but, you can read more information and rules on the swap blog.

Ok now to my post. I only have a update on the latest project I did for my daughters. I will update everyone on the projects that I want to put on Etsy in a couple of days. I want to take some better pictures on those things I will be listing on Etsy so look forward to that in awhile. I do have some finished projects on that so hopeful I can get my Etsy shop started soon.

So here is my latest project I did about 2 days before Christmas. Since I made me some slippers I decided to make my girls some slipper socks instead of slippers. They like playing so much and they tend to take off there slippers while playing I decided to do slipper socks that wont come off while they is playing. So for my first try at crocheting socks I have to say these came out ok.

Socks was on my 2008 to do list with crocheting but, looks like I got started earlier then I thought.

Feet Feet everywhere.

Starting with my 2 year old daughter Nellie feet.

Stitches: Sc, Dc

I didn't follow a pattern done all by using my daughter's feet as guide. They did get tried of me after awhile but, shoot it all paid off after I was done. I started by working the hee up then fasten off and working at the end of the heel done. Now I want to give it a try by hoping to make me a pair of socks soon.

Ok that's the end of my latest for now all about feet this time lol.

Everyone have a great day, afternoon, night whatever take care.:)

Random Thangs

Well been crocheting a bit whenever I can. Have a couple of projects going all at once. Some projects I wont be posting pictures for due to that they are gifts and pay it forward gifts. My gifts goes to a couple of the people that do come across my blog so don't want to give away the goodies in a pictures before they get there gift so no pictures on those. But, I can show a little wip pictures on some random thangs that I am crocheting.

Photobucket
So far this is the start of a purse black and white. I have much more to go but, so far so good. The handles of this purse I am thinking about doing my own beading for the handles in black and white.

Photobucket
So far this one haven't yet decided if its going to be a purse or a little craft container. If I do make it into a purse this one I am deciding the same thing about putting beaded handles on it. But, pink, white of course.

That's right guess what I crocheted for ME, some slippers. I thought well I need me some slippers I am always wearing ankle socks around the house so I wanted some slippers that I made for me so I whip these up. They really are my Christmas day slippers.

I love how I did the handles on this pures first time doing handles like this and it turned out great.

Ohhh that's right my mailbox was falling apart today lol, well not really but, due to me getting so many gifts today that you might as well say that it was falling apart. I due a wish list on the Ville and on a sewing board, and sewing group. So those people that want to sent something as a gift to others can so I got a couple of things from my list and a couple of things that wasn't on my list but, some wonderful women wanted to send me and my girls Nesa and Nellie some things. So here is a picture below sorry tried to get everything in the picture got most in the picture I think.

Photobucket

Got crayons, coloring book for Nesa and Nellie, I got a journal, couple of Bernat yarns, Lion Brand fun fur a couple of that, also Red Heart Foxy fun fur, quilting bedding, beaded fringe, glam up iron on's magnetic snaps, purse ribbons, 6 threads, craft rings, side lock snaps and more ribbons and more.

Thanks ladies, you all are the great. :)

Also I stepped back into the pass. I was cleaning out one of my closets and came across a purse that I made a long long long time ago this was back in the days lol Mainly back like in high school I believe this was back when I still was learning to sew the right way. I was looking at my purse. Looking at the sewing of my purse and lining and all I said to myself dang I came a long way with my sewing. But, wanted to take you all back into the pass. This was when I didn't know how to do magnetic snaps, zippers, or to using interfacing for the stiffness for the purse. So I did learn and caught on as time pass by. Here is the purse.

Photobucket
Front, oh so lovely hearts.

Photobucket
Inside
Look at the inside I don't do my lining like that anymore. This was back in my velcro days for closures of my purses. I want to redo this purse changing the lining of my purse and the straps I think I can redo this. I will give it a try. I used to love this purse I didn't carry backpack back when I was in school I thought I was better then that lol so I made big purses because I didn't like backpacks but, this one purse came in great handy.:)

So there you have it. Everyone have a great weekend and Merry Christmas.:)

My Weekend Contains (Little Of This Little Of That)

I just noticed that this is my 101 post here on my blog OMG how time fly by so quickly January will make that I have been blogging for 1 whole year. OMG I remember when I first started I was like I am not going to be able to keep people coming to my blog with this sewing and crocheting stuff I be blahing about lol but, I see I am so wrong. I do this for myself as well showing off my crafty side of me plus my blog is like a flick of a album with all my crafts.

So on with the show. This weekend well Saturday morning I mainly shoveled the snow kids went to play in the snow for a little while. After playing in the snow the mop become attached to my hands when we finally came in the house. After cleaning a bit I got a little crocheting done on my mom's purse. She been asking for a purse for awhile so I decided to whip her up one. I noticed that my mom haven't brought a purse in years. Everytime I see her she has one of the purses I made from my sewn up purses to my crochet purses she says, why do I need to buy any when I know someone that can make one (ME). I was so proud of my mom the other day she said, one of her friends, friend was selling crochet scarves and asked my mom did she want to buy one. My mom didn't just say no she said, "My daughter Lesa will kill me to wear someone else's crochet items, so I will have to say no but, thanks away. My daughter crochets herself and I wont feel good about wearing someone else's crochet work." Awww aint my mom nice. I guess she knew I would have went off on her lol when she can get it done by me for free. :)

Ok now back to the show. Then I dropped off the kids at my moms got a little more Christmas shopping done. We don't have a tree this year because I either don't have room for a tree or that my girls going to take things off the tree everyday. Hoping next year I can do the tree thing for my girls but, until then they can enjoy my moms Christmas tree. So all they Christmas toys are hidden in the basement.

The rest of Saturday I mainly chilled laid back watch some TV gave my crocheting hands a little rest.

Sunday now Sunday I decided to finish my moms purse so while watching all 3 Lord Of The Rings on TNT I decided to crochet and pause my my DVR ever now and then to cook, clean get on the net you know same ole same ole. Then next thing I noticed on the second Lord Of The Rings I was done with my moms purse. So after finishing that I wanted to crochet again but, something that wont take up much time. I looked at my WIP board and noticed that I have been telling my cousin that I was going to crochet her a purse for a while so I decided to whip her up a purse as well.

So now here goes my moms purse.
I haven't shown it to her just yet. I love it I did start writing the pattern as I went but, then I fall off of writing I was so used to just crocheting that I stopped counting rows and gave up on writing it.

So here it is. Love it.
This purse is done all in one piece well the body of the purse is the back, front and bottom the straps are crochet on.

Inside, still debating to put a lining in the purse. I want to ask my mom what she think before adding it because tell you the truth it looks nice and it keeps its hold without the lining.:)

Yarn: Red Heart, Navy and Black
Stitches: DC, HDC, Treble, Triple, SC
Hook: I
Done in doubl strands to give it more of a body and shape

Ok now here goes my cousin messager bag. She's still in school and she said, she want something that will have a flap to it and go over her arm and head so here it goes. I didn't do a pattern to this but, it was so easy to do that next time I do one I will write it down as I go. This purse was done in all one piece that is what makes it so simply and easy.
As you can see below the purse also has the letter A on it meaning my cousin name is Ariel. I haven't yet given it to her but, I know she will love it she seen all the other things I done before and just say Oooooooooo I want one. So there you have it my weekend.

So here is my cousin's messager bag.
The body of this bag is done in all one piece the flap, back, front and bottom. I then attached the strap.

Yarn: Red Heart, Black and Light Blue
Stitches: HDC, SC
Hook: J
Done in double strands one strand black second strands blue thats for the whole body and strap. For the flap done in 2 strands black for the background and 2 strands light blue for the letter A. The double strands is to help give the bag more shape to it.

Also I am thinking about opening me up another Etsy shop I had one about 2 years ago thats when I sold purses that was sewn I did good but, I couldn't keep up with my sewing at that time due to family problems and Nesa in and out of the hossy so I sold all I had on the shop and closed it down. Now I am so thinking about doing it again but, all contains my crocheting and every now and then I can throw in something sewn up. But since crocheting is more portable I am more likely to get more crocheting done then sewing depending on my family life at that time. So if I do open it up thinking about opening it up again in January. Waiting until after the holidays. I am just thinking of all the things I should sell. Thinking about purses, headbands, hair raps, baby/kids hats, scarves, baby blankets. Ummmmm that's all that coming to mind at this time but, just a thought.:)

On to my WIP haven't been doing much with the Dora-ghan well hopeful get back to that soon. I needed a brake from crochet graphing. When you is more of a wing it gal you sometimes want to go back to your own rules lol.
Also no update on my circle shirt will get back to crocheting that soon. Probably more of an update on that this week. If I decided to do the Etsy shop I wanted to crochet a couple of things over Christmas brake.

For my Crocheter readers out there what would you like to try new with your crocheting in the year 2008?

My answer is above at the top of my blog. My goal for 2007 was to try my hands at wearables because 2006 I was stuck in the shrugs, shawl, scarf and blankets stage. I wanted to do more then the same thing over and over. I was then learning to read patterns which I so hated to read wearable patterns they just took way to much time out of me and some crochet patterns makes it harder then it should be. So in 2007 I leaped right to it started with cardigans, bolero, then working my way to shirts with short sleeves then to long sleeves so I can say I accomplished my 2007 goal. Now my list is longer for 2008 due to me seeing so much things when it comes to crocheting that I want to try so much with it and learn from my mistakes as I go. Not scared to try something new every now and then. I will leap into 2008 giving my all to my goals I set for myself.:) So watch out.

For my Knitter readers out there what would you like to try new with your knitting in the year 2008?

Learn more then just knitting, purling and casting off. To a least try to finish a scarf at least.

So there you have it thanks for taking the time out to check out my blog. Everyone have a great day and Happy Holidays to all:)

Sew (Yeah I Sew)

I decided to dust off my sewing machine and sew up a few things today. I have been checking out all my sewing friends blogs and it got me wanting to sew. Haven't sewn in awhile and thought well let me put my hook down for a little bit and use some of the fabric I keep finding myself buying everytime I go to Walmart or to Joanne's.

So here what I got do today.

This pretty blue purse. Love the fabric so decided to make me a purse and the little small change purse to go with it. I am always changing up how I make purses I don't like to make the same shape purses all the time I change it up a bit to make it more unique. :)

My purse has one strap a silver ring that opens and close that is connected to the strap and a slive snap to help to keep the purse close.

Blue change purse has a black zipper

Purse again

I also made my girls something Nellie has a carry along backpack and Nesa a small purse. Cute aint they lol.:) I let them go into my big containers and pick them out some fabric they both wanted the same fabric so I just whipped these up in no time.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Nellie carry along backpack as 2 arm straps it ties up to close and a pocket on the outside of the front you can't really see the pocket because the fabric is blending into each other.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Nesa purse has 2 straps that is connected to 4 square melt rings.

Both

Crochet, I wasn't going to talk about crocheting in this topic but, shoot I just couldn't hold back to long lol. So here is a update on my bolero/cardigan which I was going to make a shrap but, decided to do a bolero instead. I would have been done with this a long time ago if I wasn't stopping to do other projects so glad to say I am finally done.

Sorry couldn't get no picture of me wearing it my mom usually take the picture but, she's not here today she wont be over my house into late tonight and I wanted to update my blog now before I get back to sewing and crocheting but, you all get the picture to the bolero it ties up in the front. If I do get a picture of me wearing it I will surely add it to my this entry.

Yarn: Red Heart, Navy
Hook: K
Stitches: Double, single

I had lot of navy yarn left so I decided to use it with black yarn to do my mom a purse my own design I am writing this pattern as I go so incase I want to make it again I will know how it goes without me having to guess how I did it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
So far so good

Also here is a start of a circle shirt for me. I told my friend Sharon that I wasn't going to start this shirt until next month and she said, yeah right lol. She knew I couldn't wait as you all can see. But, I seen a woman on Ravelry that had on a Circle shirt her own design so I looked at her pictures the back and the front to see how she did it and I said, I can do that so as you can see I am tempting to do it give it a try. I have it all planned in my head how it is going to look and how I will piece this all together. Now I have to whip it up on my hook and hope it turns out like I have planned. It should most of the things I plan in my head turns out like I predicted.:)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I need 2 circles in order to make it that both half circles are on both sides of my body and connect in the middle of my back and in the middle of my front. Then I will start to make the sleeves and go from there hard to explain when I am picturing it in my head.

Ok thats it for now have to get back to sewing have another purse I want to make.
I also have to finish up some Christmas shopping later or tommorrow not sure when, I guess when I get my lazy self up lol. Right now it's snowing so I don't want to get out there in that snow. So everyone have a great weekend and get crafty this week. Take care. Happy Holidays:)
