HEY, ALL BETTER :)

Hey feeling better. I can say I can finally get up out the bed and clean up. Nesa and Nellie helped me out a bit while I was sick. They kept the noise down. They cleaned up there room and settle with cereal and cold pizza's and fast food that my family dropped off. But, now mommie is back to her old self at least trying to be. I can said, I some catch up crocheting Saturday night felt oh so good to get my hands back on my love of yarn and a hook. I finally went down stairs to my sewing room to finish up Nesa's jacket. I know I know this jacket been waiting for a grand finishing for awhile so I can say I finally gave it a little bit more TLC.

Here go Nesa's jacket. Sorry no picture with Nesa wearing it she isn't feeling to good now herself. She's sleeping. I am hoping it's not the flu, she just says her stomach hurts and she has a little bit of a fever so hoping it isn't to bad and hoping if it is the flu that it don't get as bad as her having to go to the hossy. Since Nesa has a liver disease I always have to keep a extra eye on her when she gets sick. :( so right now I am just going to keep my eye out on her and hoping she gets better. She says, she don't want to go to the hossy she hates it there what kid wouldn't. So I just called her doctor and he want me to watch her fever. She hasn't thrown up so that is a good thing. She not to much hungry but, she is taking in apple juice and water so that is good. I just hate having sick kids. Grrrrrrrr :(

I also finally sat down and got cutting out the pattern for my jacket that I have been putting on hold for a very long time.

I only cut out the pattern for the package but, yet to cut out the denim that I will use for my jacket.

Photobucket

Here is a close up on the pattern I will be using. I want to do that blue jacket that you see to the lower left side.

Photobucket

Oh and for those that remember about me and my sister challenge it's still on. Now my sister is sick with the flu so will wait until I know she is feeling a little bit better then we can get that on a roll.

But, until then I will do some of my other projects I got up my sleeves.

I started crocheting this shirt for Nellie Saturday night and finished it this morning. I was going to do a pullover but, then changed my mind. I also was going to do longer sleeves but, then decided not to. I like how it turned out.

Nellie is doing great. She not sick at all mainly running around the house by herself and trying to get Nesa up to play with her. So today I had her modeling her new crochet shirt and help me rearrange some things in my sewing room. So she could stay away from Nesa while Nesa slept. I kept Nellie busy with helping me uptangle my yarn and put up fabric. So after that she just had to show off her new shirt and probably watch a movie with me later.:)

Photobucket
Close up on apron, cute aint it. Now no more complaining about me putting food on myself.

Photobucket
Close up on bracelet OMG I love this bracelet it's oh so cute, what woman can't turn down any jewelry.

Photobucket
Close up on neck-warmer, oh so cozy.

Thanks again Gold (HUGS)

Ok still a little more bragging going on today. Well I order my sewing machine and serger on Friday well guess what didn't take long as I thought it would got it yesterday afternoon. As soon as I got them I was like a little kid in a cookie jar ooooing and ahhhhhing lol.

I sat reading and figuring things out. The sewing machine came easy to me it is a second natural to me when it comes to sewing machines. I just love that when you pick a stitch it will show on the LCD screen what sewing foot you will need for that stitch. I was so used to figuring it myself with other sewing machines so this one does comes in handy.

Now there is another story for the serger hanging in there getting to know the serger lol. Just learning my tension with the stitches and so on and so on but, still getting the hang of it. Have to get used to putting so many threads on all at once but, it does really pay off in the long run.

Here goes my sewing machine:Photobucket

And my serger: Photobucket

Sorry about the mess on the table it's my sewing table get's messy from time to time lol.

I am so glad I got this sewing machine and serger at a great price they new never been open well until I opened it lol. All the things that said, will come with it on the outside of the box was totally included. A great price of total $421.00 oh by the way that include shipping and handling that is totally great hmmmm wondering where I got it from well how about I say E-B-A-Y. For those that don't know much about sewing machine and serger. Well that computertize sewing machine I got will run you from 250.00 to 350.00 or higher somewhere else. The serger I got will run you from 400.00 to 1,000 depending on where you get it. So now think about it great deal I got hmmmmm. I think so. I just can't back away from a great deal when it is in my face. :)

Here go a little practice I did with the serger:

Photobucket

I finally went back to Nesa denim jacket that been waiting for me for a bit. I did the collar and have to say I like it a lot. The serger did a great job on the outside of the collar giving it that clean look. I never had a collar that I made turn out so well done. Cute aint it.

Ok for those that knowns about my sewing challenge that me and my sister going to do we haven't yet got started. Hoping to go to Joann's this weekend to get all our fabric. You all will know when we start. Pictures of our fabric will be on my blog.

Well that's enough about my show and telling or better yet bragging lol.

Plus going to my blogger friend Sheila and Gold blog they have inspired me with there sewing projects.

Went on ebay and found a ebay seller selling all of Khaliah Ali patterns for 2.99 each so I had to get all 5 of these. Still looking for more of Khaliah Ali collection that I like.

Schools, malls and lots of business was close yesterday due to the snow so me and my girls just chilled in the house. I got a bit of crocheting done and some sewing.

Ok my blog readers. My little sister challenged me yesterday. So I have to take her up on this challenge.

Well when I get my Brother sewing machine and serger I am giving my sister my sewing machine she knowns how to sew a little but, yet to see her sewing clothes but, she want to challenge me in a contest so I am taking her up on it. It will be like a Project Runway kind of thing.

It will start when I get my sewing machine we is giving ourself a week to finish a outfit the theme outfit will be
"Out Clubbing" I thought a week would be good since she is in the learning progress.

We will do whatever we think would be nice to wear out to a club for ourself. It can be a pattern or our own design. I want to try to take pictures of our progress as we go on and on for that whole week then take the finally pictures of me in my outfit and my sister in her outfit and post it to my blog and you all as my blog readers will vote on the best "Out Clubbing" outfit between my sister and mines.

We don't have many rules just mainly do something we feel confrontable in we don't have a budget limit only a time limit to our little challenge. So hoping to show that off soon.:) I thought it was great something to do with my sister. She loves to draw her own clothes design but, yet to make them so this is like a way that I can support her and at the same time she can learn as she go.:) Let the best woman win. Will totally let everyone know when our week starts.:)

Other words that is it for now everyone have a great day take care.:)

Small Progress/Hanging On

Well not much sewing or crocheting progress be cleaning the whole house since I am ready to get a lot of new things so haven't had much much time. To really sit down and enjoy my hobbies. Also have so many big projects lined up to the point I had to give those a brake and do a couple of small tiny projects so I wont overwhelm myself.

Last night while laying in the bed I did a wrist pin cushion so here it go. Need a small project that wont take forever to do.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I made a crochet button hole on one end and a crochet button on the other end so it can close around my wrist.:) I just love pin cushions as you all can see lol.
Don't it look oh so cute

Also another small project that I started earlier this week been done with it for awhile but, kept forgetting to take pictures.

A small black and white pillow just a small pillow to throw on my futon.:)

Photobucket

I used a cross stitch pattern for the small design in the middle of the pillow.

Also to my Swap Swap Gals our February swap theme is "All About Hearts" sign up for that is on our blog.:)

I've been hunting and hunting to buy yarn but, I am very cheap if you ask anyone. I am that type that just can't buy yarn that cost way to much for 1 skein I like to look for bargins. But, at time I want to step away from buying the same yarns over and over so and try some new things so I went looking around the net and found this website called Smiley's Yarn and checked it out seen a lot of the yarn I do buy and some I always wanted to buy but, due to it costing so much so after reading everything on there website and checking out the prices I so liked it. They yarn starts from 1.00 to 3.99 a skein they have so many yarns like Lion Brand Suede, Red Heart TLC Wiggles, Lion Brand Chenille, Bernat Miami Ribbon Yarn, Bernat Caress, Cervinia Amalfi, Red Heart TLC Heather, Cervinia Genova, Jamie Classic, Bernat Galaxy, Patons Brilliant, Cervinia Softer Mohair, Paris Mohair and lots more yarn also crochet books, hooks and knitting needles.

But, there is one rule to there website you have to spend 40.00 or more but, the good thing is that the shipping and handling is only 12.95 for ever order no matter if you spend over 100.00 on there site your shipping and handling will stay 12.95. The good thing about it is that I brougnt 47.84 worth of yarn after counting the skeins of yarn I was amazed at how many I got. I got 52 skeins of yarn for the total price of 47.84 amazing huh. I know it is to me because from the yarns I brought most of those will cost in stores from 2.99 to 10.99 a skein so you have to say that was a bet. So for those that love yarn like me go check out the site.:)

So other then me finding great yarn bargins and searching for good sewing patterns I have been cleaning my butt off for new things that I am getting. Soon as I get my sewing machine and serger you all will be the first to see what amazing work they both can do lol. :)

So everyone take care have a great weekend. I have to get crocheting. I think I will do a couple of small purses and wait for my yarn order so I can get started on some of my swap gifts.:) Again have a great weekend.
