Got To Catch Up

Oh I am so tried. Happy Halloween everyone.

Been running and running all day and yesterday barely got any sleep yesterday. My daughter Nesa had to see her GI doctor OMG we was there for like 5 hours all these tests they was running was so scaring me out my mind. Her doctor is concern about her liver it is getting bigger oh for those that don't know my daughter Nesa has a liver diease called Biliary Atresia A diease she was born with and will always have for the rest of her life. The link will tell you more about BA just me thinking about explaining it will make me get way to emotionally.

But, well ok her GI doctor just wanted to run some liver screen test take blood get a ultra sound everything you name it he was doing. Now he want to set up another liver biopsy in a couple of weeks just to take a sample of her liver and look at it under the microscope. So I will hear from him about when that will take place.

Spent so much time there that after we left I decided to go to this used bookstore that I haven't been to in a long time. My girls love books and I do to. I found just one crochet book but, nothing more for me got my girls a lot of books.

Oh also started and finished up my daughter Nesa a scarf with her nick name Nesa on it started and finished it at the doctors office.

Her new scarf is the same color as her coat.

See do you see her name NESA Oh so cute.

Here is a crochet stitch book I found at that bookstore. It has a lot of stitches and I want to try a lot of new stitches so when I seen that this book was only 1 dollar and 95 cent shoot you can't beat that. Couldnt find any more crochet books that caught my eyes mainly a lot of knitting books that I didn't want. But, here I am working on my daughter Nellie a sweater. :)

Ok woke up early this morning so I could drive over to the other side of the city to go to Joanne and Walmart I had plans to go get my zippers, some tan buttons, some fabric and some interfacing fabric and that was going to be it but, it didn't go as plan lol.

As you can see this is how it went. Here go my Red Heart collection

Oh by the way here is more here goes my Bernat collection. I want to make my little daughter Nellie a sweater with this yarn. After I brought it I realize that it was 2 different colors but, when you look at it you really cant tell but, shoot her sweater just will have 2 different pretty blues.

Wait wait just a minute her go more. My Caron collection. Oh also a stitch book oh and that go my knitting kit I brought that sometime last month but, I just now finding it, guess where it was lol. I have like 3 big boxes full of yarn when I got back I went though my boxes and found it way way at the bottom of one of my boxes.
This week makes 2 years that I have been crocheting so I wanted to go ahead and get into knitting also. I found a Knit Night group on Ravelry that meets up here in Milwaukee on Mondays. I told them I don't knit but, they say that don't worry about it there are crocheters there also and they is willing to teach me so shoot I will go ahead and give it a try this coming Monday and see how it goes.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Oh that aint it here go some fabric I brought to probably do my oldest daughter some more shirts and shrugs I just have to learn to finish the ones that is cut on my sewing table first lol. Oh and also some Peaches N Cream yarn.

After reading Christina blog about RAOK I realized I haven't done a RAOK in awhile back when they was doing group 5 and 6 on Crochetville so I decided to go ahead and sign up again. I made my wish list I read a couple of wish lists and decided to send a nice lady these.

Hey Blogger Friends

Well it's Monday weekend is over. I have alot to do today at my daughters school so wanted to post on my blog before I leave because I know I wont be able to get back online probably into tomorrow. So here goes.

I did my daughter Nesa a shrug I sewn it love the fabric I found at Walmart for 1 dollar a yard so I got 4 yards. After finishing up her shrug I felt it was to plain need some jazz to it. So being the crocheter I am I had to do some crochet edging on it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Dont mind her Winnie the Pooh grown I had her try this on last night when it was time for bedtime but, you all get the picture.

I also have plans to use the rest of the fabric to make a matching shirt to go under her shrug with some crochet edging at the end of her shirt. Update on that later in the week.

But, until then more shrug pictures, I use yarn by No Boundaries love that yarn so soft.

Ok I had a doctors appointment so while sitting in the doctors office and in the WIC office I had to take my yarn and hook with me and get some crocheting done. But, I wanted to do a quick project something that don't take up to much room while doing it. So I whipped up this hair rap for me today.

Close up on the straps that goes around the ponytale.

A quick and easy project.

Chain 200. I have lots of hair and need the long straps to be able to go around my ponytail a couple of times. Mainly was done in single and double crochet with lots of decreasing to help it rap around my head giving it that head like shape.

Mainly of choice this was done by trial and error again. I just mainly used myself as the model since it was for me to keep testing it out as I crocheted.

Got a lot of people in the WIC office looking and watching me saying WOW you do that quick. Or asking how you learn? Who taught you? so on and so on mainly the same questions I always get when in public.
One woman at the WIC office said, dang girl you able to look at me and talk while you do that. I laughed because I so forgot I was crocheting because me and her was so much into our conversation. I said, yeah I am able to do this in the dark while using the tv as my light. :)

Always get lots of people wondering things when I be crocheting in public. :)

So that's my Monday ready to go get my girls dress so we can go. Everyone have a great Monday:) So what you all think of my latest projects?

Saturday It Is (Quick Update)

Ok my girls gone this weekend so it has given me time to do some crocheting last night and this morning couldn't sleep because I was so much into my crocheting and into that move called The Reaping. I started on me another bolero and next thing I noticed while watching the Reaping I was finishing up the back part of the bolero and starting on the front. The Reaping was good I liked it. Well here is a little update on my WIP Crocheting.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Here is me another bolero this time I am going to do a zipper in the front with longer sleeves. I should be done with this by tonight but, I have to buy a zipper wont be going to go to Joanne into Wednesday or Thrusday due to my daughter going to a Halloween party at school on Monday and I am helping with some of the things at the school then on Tuesday my girls has doctors appointment and where I live I have to drive on the other side of the city just to go to Joanne so that leaves me going a little later in the week so then I should have a complete finish on this bolero.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Ok WIP number 2 is my daughter Nellie a boat-neck shirt in red and white. Have to finish the sleeves and work around the collar then I will be done here also. :)

This next WIP 3 will probably be another big project due to it being my Sudoku Blanket.:) Here is a quick overall of it.:)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

As you can see that is just the start. Don't know how big this sudoku blanket is going to be but, it is going to take time due to me having to do the numbers that is what times more time there.

This is how the sudoku puzzle look that I am doing.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
As you can see the one that is done so far is in the top left corner.

Ok picture this in your head. The first left corner that I have the picture above the background is black with white numbers with the white going around the black.

Then the middle part of the sudoku will be white background with black numbers with with black going around the white.

So it will go first box to the left black middle white right black
second boxes left white middle black right white
so on and so on :)

Ok thats my WIP crochet no pics on my work in project sewing but, have some things almost done for my oldest daughter just have to double stitch a few things and iron them then when she gets home I can take some pictures.

Ok now back to my weekend ALONE needed a big brake. Love my girls but, at times I just need MOMMY time. Have a couple of movies I like to watch while I crochet. :)

Everyone have a great weekend:)

My First Cross Stitch Pattern Used As Crocheting

Well gave it my all and have to say I like it. Been working on this on and off for 2 days would have been down sooner but, had some sewing to do for some friends but, here is my progress.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Haven't yet decided if it will be the center piece of a blanket or a pillow but, wanted to show off what I have so far. Have to say it turned out ok. I like following grid lines to come up with a nice crochet center piece. I liked it so much that I came up with my own design to do a Sudoku blanket. I know I know that would take some time lots of time but, I want to give it a shot and go for it to see how it comes out. I have plan to get start on it tomorrow at least start it off.:)

But, this is the design I followed:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Sorry I took a picture of the paper upside down but, you all get the picture of what I did. I also didn't do so well with the red in the center but, I gave it my all and I like how it turned out. I have many more designs I like to do one day but, so you have it.

What do you all think?

Also should I just stop now and make it into a pillow?

Or should I keep going and make it into a blanket?

Haven't yet decided but, I am open for others opinion.

So thanks for stopping by to read my blog have a great night or day depending on when you ready this.

Take care.

My Very First Attempt

Ok wanted to try something I haven't never tried when it comes to my crocheting so I went ahead and got started on trying to crochet letters. I gave it my best learning from my mistakes. So here is my first finished project with crocheting with letters.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

My daughter Nesa a pillow that says Nesa My Big Girl.
Now I just mainly wrote out the words on a grid line paper and came up with this after crocheting. I was just happy that I got it ok.

I also went back using yarn and yarn knead to go over the outline of the word Nesa I realize I shouldn't have done that because it took away from the crochet part of it so I didn't finish with the other words. I know next time not to do that but, shoot this will be my girls pillow anyway. I always do things for them as my first try at things. I sewn white fabric on the back and then I crochet around the edge of the pillow with fun fur red yarn by Lion Brand to give it more design like to it.:)

So gave it another try but, this time I found a cross stitch website that has letters on grid line paper and here is my second attemp.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The most big mistake I did was having my daughter Nellie pick the colors but, incase you cant see the writing it has hearts at the top and then it says NELLIE not yet finished thinking about ending it right there and start over with 2 different colors but, it was my attemp to give this a try and I can't say I didn't try I did. So there you have it. I am giving it another try ready to do a design I found on a cross stitch website to see how it would come out. My mom is also asking me to do her a pillow. So want to find a design to put on a pillow for her.
There you have it my attemps to give crocheting letters a try. So what do you think? :)

Purse Tutorial Reversable Bucket/Oval Bottom Purse

Ok I have done this tutorial a while back but, only had posted it on Crafters and never my blog due to a lot of people in some of my yahoo groups they have always asked me how I do my purses and do I follow patterns well not really I go by trial and errow and wanted to go ahead and put my tutorial on a purse I have done for my mom awhile back. So for those that like to follow these directions or just maybe change it up a bit its up to you. Here goes:

Warning giving heads up will have lots of pictures. All the words are under the picture that is shown.

Dont know the name of this purse I guess it's bucket that's what I keep seeing but, here go my bucket/oval bottom purse.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
In this picture to the right and left part of the picture same fabrics 2 interfacing 1 blue 1 black fabric. So that makes it 2 black 2 blues.
I measure by eye so mainly you decide your measurements. Mainly a square is how I start off. Top of the purse is more longer then the sides.
Below is 2 black 2 infterfacing 1 cardboard for the bottom of the purse. I shape out my oval as I clip in the pins.
To the far right is 2 blue 2 black fabrics for the straps. 2 rings and 2 smaller fabrics 2 blue 2 black for the ring holder.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Here I cut in half 1 blue and 1 black fabric. This will be sewn together mix match.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Strap: I take 1 blue and 1 black fabric line them up folding in the ends so you wont see the ruff edges and sew together. This also goes for the small strap holder pieces

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Left side before right side after

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Straps: after sewn 2 small ring holders I put though the 2 rings.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
To your left will be the outside or shoot inside it's reversable. I just mix and match the blue/black and sewn them together and iron them open. For all fabrics I iron to the interfacing fabric.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
To your left is where I sew up both sides ONLY I double sew it helps to have the purse last longer and also keep it flip inside out without the thread wearing out. To your right I turn out after sewing both sides. This will be the outside of the purse for now.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I then take the bottom fabric after ironing to the interfacing I then pin to the purse and cut around it taking away the fabric I don't need. Then I sew together. For the inside and outside pieces.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
This the bottom of the purse. I also cut out the cardboard to size up with the bottom.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Put the cardboard at the bottom of the purse see now it holds up from the cardboard. I put a little hot glue on the card board so it can stick to the bottom of the purse so it wont move while reversing it over and over.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Put the bottom on the inside fabric also. To the left is the inside of the purse to the right is the outside. Wish ever side is never no wrong side when you is doing reversable.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
1 strap will be sewn to 2 rings as seen here in this picture. Fold in the edges and sew to hide the ruff edges.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I then put the inside lining in the inside and fold in the edges making sure none of the edges of the fabric shows and pin it closed.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Here I open up the fabric to pin in my straps between both fabrics.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Here I sew all around the purse closing it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Side 1 and back of side 1

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Side 2 and back of side 2

So there you have it a reversable purse with a oval bottom to it. You can reverse it as much as you like. :)
Thanks for looking you never know maybe you can try to make a purse. How you like it tried to do ever direction I could so hoping I didn't leave to much out. :)
